For your consideration: we are in the process of cleaning up the DU Groups

As many of you have already noticed, some of our DU Groups are underused and outdated. While doing some housekeeping, we came up with a proposal to archive a few Groups and re-organize the others into more specific categories, which we think will make navigation easier. (If you don't know what a DU Group is, click here to learn more.)

As part of the proposal we also intend to:

Include links to related Topic Forums on the new category pages.

Allow you to add a forum (or Group) to your My Forums list when you are inside that forum (or Group).

Here's what we've come up with, for your review and comment.

ON EDIT: To clarify -- if you don't see a particluar Topic Forum included in the lists below, it doesn't mean we're getting rid of that forum. In fact we are not getting rid of any of the Topic Forums. We simply intend to provide links to certain related Topic Forums when we recategorize the Groups, and those are the forums you see included in the lists below.

State & Country Forums

As part of the reorganization, DU's state, local, and international forums will be grouped together into a new section called "Places," which will be separated into two sub-categories: "US" and "International"

Feedback Please

We're opening this up for discussion. What do you think of this reorganization? Have we miscategorized anything? Let us know

Well, I see my fellow alum Skins is STILL being exclusive.

There's no forum for blind primitives, no forum for illiterate primitives, no forum for non-users of English primitives, no forum for dead primitives.

I really think my fellow alum should have those forums; otherwise his claim to be respectful of diversity and minorities is a sham.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :overreaction:

That's quite an assortment of health-related groups they have there.  I bet they're a bunch of fun people to chat with.

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

If all these people can vote Dem, and you know they ALL do, then why can't they get their own forum?

Well, yeah, I think my fellow alum is ignoring large constituencies of the Democrat party here.

Well, they left off a whole lot of races/ethnicities from their list.  The entire Arab world is ignored, for instance, as well as the subcontinent.

There is still an entire forum related to Al Gore?  What on earth can possibly be said?

Do they know that Ann Coulter is a big fan of the Grateful Dead?

God alone suffices.

I just wish they would bring back the ATA forum.  That was comedy gold.  I had a mole ask a question that got quoted here.  It was hilarious.  I just imagine Skimmer rolling his eyes at evey question asked by the DUmmies.

md11, do you recall what the question was?

My mole was "gottalickbush" an oversexed bi sexual female. Only had a few posts under her, it got tough to act that crazy. That was a few years ago when I went over to troll. She was quoted a couple of times. Used to have the neighbor over to help around the house.
Anyway, I think the question was about making a forum for sexual issues.  Also, I meant to say CU instead of here. I miss that forum
