1. I was concerned that we'd run out of editorials reminding us about Polanski.
 And thank God we got all the graphic details. Are we almost done being lectured about our lack of outrage?

I'm hoping that as soon as Sylvester Stallone gets divorced or Angelina adopts another baby this stuff will be relegated to the interior pages of the supermarket tabloids.

 You just attempted to insinuate something utterly dishonorable about me. I have volunteered repeatedly with shelters and have donated to causes to protect vulnerable people from this kind of evil.

Have your own self-justifying theories all day long with regards to your obsession with this case. Smear people all day long with whatever filth you want. It will make no difference.


The fact of the matter is that this is a crime that does not have a political dimension. My reason for deciding to unrec this was two-fold.

1) I usually unrec celebrity news even if it is odious and foul.

2) Your smarmy tone was more than enough and now that you have moved onto baseless and foul accusations against people interested in doing working towards accomplishing something that we can actually do something about, I can see that unrecommending this post (one of dozens of similar posts) was probably the right thing to do.

Buzz Click has fallen a couple of notches because of this indefensible position. There is nothing right about a 40-something year old who has sex with a child. Yes, terrible things happened to his family more than once, but that doesn't entitle him to a "Get out of a child rape charge free" card.

Frankly, I think the reason for the insane defense is entirely tied to politics.

One thing that the left does well is fabricate a tale and stick to it at all costs. And this story flies in the face of one of their more successful yarns - that " those on the right are perverts and child rapists, even though they claim to be 'Family Values' people". -- So, everyone on the right ends up tied to a sex crime or some sort of perversion (Foley, Catholic priests, Craig, Sanford etc.. ) And in some cases, some on the right are persecuted for such things even if they never happened at all (Beck, Limbaugh, Coulter etc.)

However, when someone on the left is caught with their pants down, it gets minimized or dismissed altogether-- Even when real people are actually hurt by these sociopaths.

The Kennedy boys were all philanderers -- no big deal..
Barney Frank and the basement gay brothel ? - meh..
Elliot Spitzer and hookers - So What ?
Gerry Studds Bangs underage boys ? - Let's Reelect him !
