The only reason we don't have Sanders in office right now...IMHO...is because Clinton and the DNC rigged who was awarded delegates in the primaries in her favor.  The clear favorite on the DNC side of the 2016 was Bernie Sanders.

Had he won the nomination instead of Hillary I believe that tragically for the U.S. the outcome would have been different as to who won in November 2016.

I mean just look at the radicals that have taken over the DNC...Ellison and Perez...look at Ocasio's win in New York and the fact that DiFi didn't get the endorsement of the California Democrat Committee.

The purge of the "old bulls" of the DNC is beginning.  The same people who ousted Democrats like Zell Miller...Sam Nunn...are now finding themselves being challenged and in some cases defeated by the new DNC/Socialist youth movement.

The radicalism of Bernie Sanders and Ocasio is the new face of the Democrat Party...and they've had decades to radicalize and indoctrinate generations into their world view.

He had the colleges and the unions and the people that have been indoctrinated to get something for nothing from the government motivated and energized.

His promises of free tuition...free single payer health care...living wage...open borders...$15 minimum wage for burger flippers..higher taxes on the 1%...all the crap that Socialists toss out to these kids that don't know any better would have gotten them out to vote for him.  He was to the left of Hillary and the young people and unions and the Media loved him and wanted him to win over Hillary in the primaries. 

Ocasio preached the same message and she won....we shouldn't discount that because of how few got out and voted. 

I have no doubt if Slow Joe runs in 2020 he'll move that far left too.

I've been observing the berniebros on various sites like JPR and others, and while I hear what you're saying, the biggest thing in our favor right now is that these radical nuts are all over the map. They circular firing squad each other more than the nutsos on Skins island. And right now the "corporate Dems/Clintonistas" are not too keen on letting the berniebros take over their party and rain on their parade. And it's not so much as they disagree, but it's more along the lines of "We want to go further left, but damned if we'll have the berniebros be the ones who lead us there." They're still fighting the 2016 election and aren't letting go of their respective side of the story (Clinton won because she was the better candidate and got more votes vs. Sanders would have won but the DNC/Clinton rigged the game). That war is going to continue for a while longer, probably up until and through 2020 depending on who is the nominee. I think that the chances are about 50-50.  See, I think that as long as President Trump is in the Oval Office, the Republicans will act the way they're acting now.  There will be a reset back to the good ol' boys after 2024.
