finally said what I've been saying for years.
I'm really surprised he hadn't said it before, and I encourage him to say it again and again, until it sinks inside the primitive skulls. God knows, the primitives have never paid attention to what franksolich says.

Being public forums, one needs to exercise discretion in what one writes.
The primitives seem to have this absurd idea that their audience consists
only of who they wish their audience to be (i.e., other primitives that they like and trust).
Their audience is much vaster than this, and of course includes, besides decent and civilized people innocently looking for amusement, some people with malicious motives; I give you the example of Fat Che, the long-ago mausoleumed "Ben Burch" primitive, who was using Skins's island as a hunting-ground for people in real life susceptible to blackmail and extortion and abuse.

If the primitives feel ill-used by decent and civilized people seeking diversion and entertainment, let me say this about that.....the DUmpster has
always exercised discretion in what's brought here. This is because, being decent and civilized people, we are truly concerned for the safety and well-being of the primitives; we don't want them to get hurt.
I can think of lots and lots of examples where a primitive blabbed too much, and the campfires would've provided good inventory for the DUmpster, but I refrained from bringing them here because the primitive was so indiscreet so as to make himself vulnerable to malicious people.
And I've noticed that other members here do the same thing; sometimes a primitive has presented us, on a silver platter, with something really, really good and juicy, but it doesn't show up here because the primitive's blabbed too much for his own good.
A year and a half ago, when the friends of Steve Dawes were talking with me, they pointed out that the big guy from Bellevue had posted a lot of sensational stuff, a lot of really intimate stuff, a lot of private stuff--but because they were decent and civilized people, they had qualms about using things he'd said that could do him some
real damage.
And so the web-site they set up to help his campaign was pretty neutered, pretty mild, pretty innocuous, utterly harmless; it was
nothing like what they
could have put up, if they'd been less concerned for him.
Despite my own undeserved reputation as a hardass when it comes to the primitives, franksolich has in reality been a nice guy, refraining from disseminating primitive-posted information about primitives that might cause them some real harm.
The primitives have
no idea how much personal information they themselves post, and in concordance with my fellow alum Skins, I urge them to
think before they blab.
