Well, well.

There's a whole lot of people who really need to knuckle down and read Dale Carnegie's classic, How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Skippy and Manny, please pick up the courtesy phone.....

An empty threat to go with their empty hint of a promise upthread.  He's going to be persona non grata with them anyway, the mainstream 'Rat party's only interest in him lies in his ability to get out pro-'Rat voters on Election Day.  After that they will drop him and his agenda like the last two or three syllables of a Slavic immigrant's last name in 1920.  If Hitlery gets in the White House their whole agenda will be reeling back in the leftward drift they had to take in the election in order to appease their own donor base (As opposed to their voter base) and they know Sanders will still slavishly vote with them on anything they want.  He remains just an 'Independent' Senator who merely caucuses with the 'Rats, they aren't going to do a damn' thing like giving him a key committee seat or anything of the sort.  The downside for him is really no different from the upside, they're going to treat him like shit after the election no matter what.

If you're looking for "mood music" for that day, Coach, try Chopin's Funeral March.

Ride of the Valkyries for the hildabeast side.   I hope they play it at the dem convention when the hildabeast finally slays the berniebots and their free shit for all god.  :cheersmate:

I know this is going off-topic--if such is possible, going off-topic on a "live" thread that's supposed to last for days and days--but anyway, as a stimulus to my thinking about Messalina Agrippina, recently I've been watching via youtube that 1970s BBC television series, I, Claudius.

I'm really surprised I seem to be the only person who ever paralleled the presidency of Messalina Agrippina's husband 1993-2001 with the decadence that was imperial Rome.....something I've done, well, since 1993.  The only parallel I haven't seen yet is a new Caligula, but I imagine we're getting there.

Of course I only watch it; the spoken dialogue is too fast and too complicated for me to follow; it's hopeless for me to even hope to keep up.  But as with other series such as The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Elizabeth R, Tom Brown's Schooldays, The Shadow of the Tower, &c., &c., &c. since I already know the story--the characters, the happenings--it's just an easy matter to sit back and simply watch, ignoring the dialogue altogether.

This "skill" has other uses too.  youtube wants money if one wishes to see the full-length The Lion in Winter, but to see the movie in German for some reason is free.  I don't know German any more than I know Swahili, but it doesn't make any difference; already knowing the people and events, I just sit back and watch.

I've noticed a trend I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing.

Over the past few weeks, the news stories seem to have shifted from the Messalina Agrippina-Methuselah drama to the Messalina Agrippina-Don contest.  Methuselah's still making enough noise that it generates stories, but not nearly as much as in the past.  The focus seems more on the real contest, the upcoming Battle of the Titans, which should be epic.

It was inevitable, one supposes, the old sourassed sourpuss quietly passing on to the dustbin of yesterday's news.  It couldn't happen too soon, and it couldn't happen to a more-deserving rectal aperture.

Geezuz, is there even one single solitary IQ among all the Bernie bullies?

http://www.infowars.com/bernie-sanders-supporters-endorse-bernie-madoff-for-vp/

Quote
Bernie Sanders Supporters Endorse Bernie Madoff For VP
"Having a strong finance background, that's what we're all looking for"

Bernie Sanders supporters in San Diego gave their glowing endorsement to the 74-year-old socialist picking fraudster Bernie Madoff as his running mate, noting that the kingpin of one of history’s most infamous ponzi schemes had a good background in finance.

Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison in June 2009 after he admitted to defrauding thousands of investors of billions of dollars over a period stretching back decades,

When told by Mark Dice that Bernie Sanders was bringing Madoff aboard as his vice-presidential pick to “help clean up Wall Street,” one man responded, “I think that’s a good idea,” noting that the ticket would include “all the Berns”.

Another respondent illustrated how most people form their political opinions by proxy when he stated, “One person told me about him and said good things so if he’s as good as the person says then I’m all for it.”

“From what I heard, what I was told about what Bernie’s about, I’m all for it,” he adds.

Dice asks another woman whether picking Madoff as Bernie’s running mate is a good idea “even though they have the same first name,” to which she responds, “Yeah I think it’s pretty cool, it’s pretty badass, yeah.”

Another individual notes that “having someone strong in finance” would be good for Bernie’s campaign, seemingly unaware of the fact that Madoff presided over what is considered the largest financial fraud in U.S. history.....

To be fair, you could pull a similar stunt on just about any faction's adherents with similar results.  People can't seem to remember much of anything beyond about a week anymore.

Everything is relative, I guess.  They think anyone who doesn't have the same wacko views they hold as being custodially retarded, so I suppose they are right in terms of their own frame of reference, i.e. they are marginally smarter than the custodially retarded.

Well, well, according to the New York Times, an extreme left-leaning source if there ever were one, as of this afternoon, Wednesday, May 25:

Messalina Agrippina 2,305 delegates (2,383 needed to win)
Methuselah 1,539 delegates

Those numbers include all delegates, not as the Bernie bullies would have it, just the blond-haired ones and the tall ones.  When giving delegate counts, one must include all delegates, no matter any other characteristics they might possess.

Since the superdelegates can turn on a dime right up until they cast their vote at the convention, however, they do not count as far as mathematically eliminating him from contention, if he chooses to stay in the race up until that final ballot.  I hope he does, really, it's fun watching her feel the Bern.

Since there's so many primitives who come specifically to this thread to lurk--they're surely welcome to; no one on this side is afraid of anyone learning what we really think and feel about things--I suppose I need to announce that franksolich will be gone nearly all of the day Thursday, May 26, and so new posting on this thread might drag unless.....hint, hint.....other members of the DUmpster take up the one-day slack.

I've been going to the big city for physical therapy four times a week, one time a week being there nearly a full morning or afternoon, and tomorrow's that day.  I really don't care for it--despite that it's mostly just my laying there while the body's massaged and manipulated--because the way it eats up an enormous chunk of the day.

Not to mention the time and ennui spent going to, and coming back from.

There's also going to be an extensive cardiological examination, as it's been a little over a year since the heart attack, and the cardiologist who first treated me wants to see how it's going.  Of course it's been going well--I've been checked at least once every two weeks--because the night of that heart attack, I abruptly ceased a 37-year-old habit of chain-smoking 2-3 packages of cigarettes a day.

(I wish I could say I've been rolling in the dough because of the money I was not spending--it'd been $9-13 a day--but by weirdest of coincidences, about the exact same time those savings began happening, the cost of living under Obozo the Glorious seemed to go up by exactly that same amount.....so no savings were gotten.)

I never regretted smoking; I took it up as a teenager so as to deal with the intense stress and tension the deaf endure in a hearing world, and it did do that; I remained mellow, nonchalant, and laid back all those decades when I could've become high-strung and unbearable.

And there was the unanticipated side-effect that being surrounded by a cloud of cigarette smoke--or at least its odor--it kept other people at arms'-length.  I'm not a cuddly sort of person and do have boundaries.  I've always dealt best with people when there's some ground, some acreage, in between us.

Well, I don't enjoy those advantages, those small comforts of life, any more, but I suppose it was time to quit, closing a chapter in this book of life.

So.....being bored, I went to wikipedia to look up the list of these superdelegates, whose votes matter but who're being ignored by the Bernie bullies as if they don't.

There's 719 of them, with 715 votes (the ones representing "Americans Abroad" get only half a vote each; I dunno why).

For the Democrat National Convention overall, there's 4,770 delegates, 4,766 votes overall.

So the superdelegates are a mere 15% of all delegates, which isn't a whole lot.

The superdelegates are comprised of distinguished party leaders; there's 20 of those, and Messalina Agrippina has 11, while Methuselah has 1, the rest still undecided.

Then there's the Democrat governors, of which there's 21; Messalina Agrippina has 17, Methuselah as many as he deserves, and four are undecided.

And the Democrat senators, of which there's 47--the number includes 2 "shadow senators" representing Washington, D.C.--of which 40 support Messalina Agrippina, 2 support Methuselah (one of them being the old sourassed sourpuss himself), and five are undecided.

The Democrat congressmen, of which there's 193, some of which are non-voting delegates from American territories--Messalina Agrippina has 171 of them, Methuselah nine, and thirteen of them are still undecided.

Finally, members of the Democrat national committee, which include the committeeman and committeewoman from each state, the state party chairman, and the state party vice-chairman.  Plus some miscellaneous personages, for a total of 434 superdelegates.  Of those, 273 are for Messalina Agrippina, 30 are for Methuselah, 1 is for the dropped-out Marvin Mallory, and 130 are still undecided.

That gives a total of 719 superdelegates, and 715 votes (again, the halved ones representing expatriate Americans).  For laughs, I'll leave it up to the Bernie bullies to do any further mathematical calculations.

As our distinguished colleague Tanker noted--either on this thread or elsewhere, I forget which--the votes of the superdelegates are not set in stone, as they're allowed to change their minds up until they actually vote.

True.

I'm sure the Bernie bullies are hoping for, counting on, that.

But I'm equally sure that any wavering superdelegates are aware that Messalina Agrippina has good friends who frown upon those trying to complicate her life, and who aren't hesitant to, uh, use certain means to prevent it.

Break out the dancers; remember either of the two blondes looks remarkably like Messalina Agrippina, so imagine it's she, jubilating.

According to the New York Times this afternoon (Thursday afternoon), Messalina Agrippina padded her lead over Methuselah by four more.

Count's now her 2,309, him 1,539; it takes 2,383 to win.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one Frank ole buddy.  Those two blonds are nice looking. Even in a  bizarro universe Hillary would never be considered good looking.

She is that ugly.... both on the inside and outside.  Look up ugly in Websters and they got her picture as an example.

I'm surprised how strongly, how passionately, the Bernie bullies hate.

There ain't nothing lite about it; it's pure industrial-strength hate, Judy grasswire being one of the best examples.

Since Judy wishes nothing but ill for Messalina Agrippina, wishes all sorts of really bad things would befall her, I wonder if it's equally kosher for franksolich to wish the old bat falls into a vat of boiling oil.

I'm not saying I do wish that; I'm asking, in light of her attitude, is it okay to feel that way?

So.....I go over to Manny's jackass message board, to see how the Bernie bullies are jubilating about what seems only good news for them, and I find them a pretty muted, subdued group.

It's obvious why they are; there's lots of posts over there denying it, but really, in actual fact, they miss hanging around on Skins's island.  Possibly even some regret having been rectal apertures and gotten banned from there.

I'll bet Skippy, Manny, and the-mind-of-a-child WillyT most of all.

But hey, they got only themselves to blame.

- - - - - - - - - -

In a few weeks--most likely two--Manny's message board will probably spiral down into the abyss of cyberspace, and the Bernie Sanders forum on Skins's island will probably be merged into the Hillary Clinton forum there.

After which one wonders what the Bernie bullies will do.

My guess is that nearly all of them are going to try to get back onto Skins's island, and they'll use every trick, every subterfuge, every deceit, to do so.  And some might get away with it, but only because Skins is a magnanimous overlord, quick to forgive transgressions and hurts.

But I surely hope both Skippy and WillyT are on permanent irrevocable lifetime bans; it'd serve them right.

http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/news/a45267/bernie-sanders-superdelegates/

Oh my.

Quote
Today in Bernie Sanders Hypocrisy
Superdelegates are bad, but they used to be good, and they'll be good again if they vote for him at the Convention.

Bernie Sanders doesn't like superdelegates. Neither do members of Bernie's staff, nor Bernie's legions of supporters. Superdelegates are unelected, unaccountable, undemocratic. These party elites, who get to vote however they want, shouldn't be counted in assessments of the Democratic primary race. Superdelegates "don't count until they vote, and they don't vote until we get to the convention," Bernie's campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, said on CNN last month.

Quote
But, as The Hill reminds us, Sanders didn't always sing the same tune. On June 5, 2008—two days after the last state voted, but before Hillary Clinton dropped out—Sanders pledged his support to then-Senator Barack Obama in an interview with The Burlington Free-Press. The Vermont senator had customarily held off endorsing anyone, the paper explained, until the party had chosen a nominee.

Except that Obama was not yet the nominee.

Quote
At that point in the '08 race, Obama had the support of 1,766.5 pledged delegates, according to The Hill, while 2,118 total delegates were required to secure the nomination that year. Clinton had 1,639.5. That meant that Obama needed superdelegates to put him over the top and make him the nominee—something Sanders apparently had no issue with at the time. Clinton dropped out two days after that interview, conceding defeat when she was 127 pledged delegates behind.

Quote
Clinton has 1,768 pledged delegates, while Sanders has 1,497. That's a lead of 271 without any superdelegates, with six states plus Washington, D.C., remaining. It's unlikely Sanders will narrow the gap to the 127 that separated Clinton and Obama in 2008, and virtually impossible for him to catch up to her completely. Yet he has promised to go to the convention and force a floor fight for superdelegates.

Quote
If you're keeping score at home, this means Sanders wants to use the super-undemocratic concept of  superdelegates, which he used to be OK with but now thinks are the worst, to overturn the democratically-determined will of the people—keep in mind Clinton also has 2.4 million more popular votes than Sanders—and make him the Democratic nominee. Plus, he'll likely need more of them than Clinton would have needed in 2008 to overturn Obama's advantage.

Isn't Bernie the guy who's against the establishment political machine?

Isn't he the one who represents the popular will against the elites who are trying to subvert it?

And much more illuminating stuff at the link above.
