Well I have 160 acres, with a paved road to the front of the property, enough ground that 75 acres can be cultivated, and also a 30 acre island in the middle of one of the deepest lakes in N. Idaho with 7 cabins, to fall back on if we need to.

The majority don't know. Beck has great ratings but still not as much as the alphabets who are still giving their guy cover. For those that were following my latest catastrophe, it's official, the calf died due to pneumonia. Apparently he had it before we bought him from the auction. We pasture them so we didn't notice until it was too late.

Pretty lousy way to go! Humans get pain killers. Cows just suffer. Damn it!

Apparently some forms of pneumonia can be transmitted in cattle but this was not one of them. Thank God!

That brought back childhood memories of being armpit deep up a cows rearend, laughing and puking at the same time....I can still smell the whole mess.

Oh well, the stew wasn't quite done enough anyway.

To make a long story short, we got the calf out of the cow in about 3 hours, using a block and tackle and OB chains, in 4 pieces....   

That's what I was doing while pulling on the rope....      In gigantic quanties....

The cows always hunt for the worst place they can find to calve...I guess it's natures way of protecting the young.
