Looks to me like he believes, without really knowing why he believes. And that scares the hell out of him (pun fully intended).

Christ isn't a myth. He lived and Peterson knows it. What he's wrestling with, to the point of tears, is why and how Christ "touches" both the objective evidence and the narrative, as espoused in the Bible and other relevant texts.
