The most frightening thing about the current scenario in the US is that ReTHUGs have no problem overthrowing the elected executive.

Further they are against gun control for one reason - they are facilitating the sale of weapons to their goons.

The insurrectionists must be sent to prison (including the big fish) or things will get worse.
There must be serious consequences.

:thatsright: because guns are only sold to white people who, as we know, are always racists...

long will this bullshit continue. How many people have to needlessly die.

The left really wants a war. The think that they would win and be able to usher in their perfect socialist utopia... AND they believe that the right are to chicken to stand up against them.

2. This will continue until there are serious consequences

Another worry is how many persons in charge of protecting democratic institutions are themselves part of the seditionists?

47. That is the scariest part.

I sometimes fear that Jan 6 was a dry run for insurrectionists who want an overthrow of democracy regardless of who leads it - the orange fascist former guy, or someone else.

And if Jan 6 was a dry run, what's next?

 :thatsright:

51. True, the leaders and not just the attackers

need to be arrested, convicted, and dealt with harshly. But it will take some dedicated effort to nail them with solid evidence because these leaders are smooth at covering their trail, or leaving no concrete trail. People can be convicted on circumstantial evidence, though, if the evidence and the prosecutor are good.

41. Exactly. There should have been arrests and sentences

in the Bundy grazing land grab in NV 8 years or so ago. Oathkeepers backed the feds down with an armed presence. Similar thing with the Malheur Wildlife Refuge occupation a couple years after, though there was the very short shootout when the feds surprised the group of them that were traveling to a meeting elsewhere. Maybe the Feds should have stormed the occupied refuge headquarters instead of hoping for a peaceful solution. Avoiding armed conflict in order to appease and preserve peace has worked more to embolden them and seemingly just postpone the conflict till later. Arrest and try the instigators behind the Capitol storming or we will surely suffer something worse down the road.

5. The direction that this is pointing is truly frightening.

This is the birth of a fascist state. We have to lock up the seditious traitors AND their leaders, like Roger Stone and Trump.

This will be way worse than Nazi Germany, and the target will be anyone with a D next to their name.

There's enough stuff out there now to form small armies. Only thing they don't have is armor and air support. But drones are not that far away.

17. Yes but there's another problem

military hardware in the hands of military men and women who are seditionists

Things haven't going their way. The insurrection failed....Trump is out of the white house and Biden is undoing a lot of the damage he did... Public opinion favors many progressive causes. Even big corporations are turning against the repugs.

But every time these cowardly misfits lose, their hate and rage increase, and they become even more dangerous. It's a precarious situation.

tore up the peace and tranquility part of the Constitution - all he did was use fear and hate to promote his agenda - raw fascism. That monster has to go to prison - with his goons.

We need to know how many are also seditionists - these are serious times. The good news is that the system survived Trump on January 6 - now it's time for punishment.

That's why the Repukes want to overthrow him. If they accepted the fact that Biden is the duly elected President they wouldn't be trying to do this.

It's Chump's completely false narrative that is driving this.

Trump's role in the attempted coup d'etat is part of the problem. Trump attempted to overthrow the President Elect and nullify the election, and thus ignore the will of the American people. Any way you cut it, Trump belongs in prison from now until the end of the world.

Like most DUpipo, demigoddess is completely lacking in self-awareness. The Dems are now hell-bent on subjecting us to permanent one-party rule. HR 1, ending the filibuster, statehood for DC and PR, packing the Supreme Court, etc., etc., etc. All are steps that will lead to an eternal Dem government. When the Rs were in charge, McConnell could have ended the filibuster, but didn't. We could have ended up with states like East North Dakota, and New Wyoming, ensuring more R Senators, but that didn't happen either. They now know that they have a VERY narrow opportunity to shove their agenda down our throats, because November 2022 will probably look a lot like November 2010, unless they can buy enough votes through their COVID payments, and import enough Dem voters, and ensure election fraud via mail-in ballots.

no, I'd say the most frightening thing about the current scenario in the US is that we have no objective and neutral press to expose that the demented old man who currently sits in the seat of the chief executive of the Country got there thru massive voter fraud both in the way ballots were distributed and collected as well as the questionable ways they were counted and as the result of this election fraud we have a person in charge who is well past his mental prime and the person waiting in the wings in a far leftist who is bent on further destroying this Country.

Add to that a congress that is lead by left leaning radicals who are determined to change future elections to ensure that the fraud that occurred in 2020 will continue unabated in future elections.
Biden is an illegitimate President.  Change my mind.

The only thing approaching 'frightening' to a Deplorable are the unknown consequences from decisions made to terminate one's traditional American lifestyle by going guerilla against leftist infrastructure.

It's not an easy decision, but it's makeable...  Fear doesn't stand a chance against a will to win.  -Or win back, in this case.

"Dry" run is correct since none of the protestors had firearms.

Just wow.  :thatsright: I've never regarded DU posters as the most informed people in our country, but this misanalysis is outstandingly bad, even for DU.

So we're going to pretend that big corporations aren't facing pressure from democrats to turn against conservatives? And facing pressure from leftist activists? And that the leaders of these corporations aren't democratic donors?  :mental:

Only thing I can say is there a LOT of projection coming from the quoted DUmbasses in that first post.

Given the majority of DUpipo's ages and past and maybe present lifestyles, irony and wrinkly probably both apply. Kind of like The Seven Dwarfs of DU: Crock, Angry, Dopey, Wrinkly, Drunky, Assaholey, and Lazy. mal is special, just call her Hatey. :rimshot:  :bolt:
