The Romney campaign has ceased sending fundraising e-mails to D.C., New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.  The campaign is also collecting supplies to deliver to those affected by the hurricane in some states, and in Virginia, will be deploying the campaign bus to deliver supplies. Mitt Romney also sent out this e-mail (headline: “Please take care”) to supporters last night:

Tonight, Ann and I are keeping the people in Hurricane Sandy’s path in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope that if you can, you’ll reach out to your neighbors who may need help getting ready for the storm — especially your elderly neighbors. And if you can give of your resources or time, please consider supporting your local Red Cross organization — visit www.redcross.org to get involved.

For safety’s sake, as you and your family prepare for the storm, please be sure to bring any yard signs inside. In high winds they can be dangerous, and cause damage to homes and property.

I’m never prouder of America than when I see how we pull together in a crisis. There’s nothing that we can’t handle when we stand together.

    Stay safe and God Bless,

    Mitt Romney

That sure sounds a lot more presidential than:

SPIN? Obama campaign fears impact of Hurricane Sandy...

They're worried that Obama voters won't have enough time to cast multiple votes.

There are 9 days before the election...and 9 more days for early voting...WHAT,,,they don't have enough time to get to the polls before then?

They showed obama on tv last night sitting at a desk trying to act all presidential and telling his fans to stay safe and what to do. The scene before that was him talking to FEMA. That is probably the first time he ever talked to them about anything. I mean they probably had to get him off the golf course to meet with them. Before Romney released his caring announcement, obama was held up in a corner whimpering like a scared dog.. The stupid jackass. I can't wait to pull the lever for Romney next Tuesday.

The problem is loss of power, which will throw everything into a tailspin.    Some states who have minimal damage could see power outages for 10 days or more.

The Northeast which everyone has written off as blue (or mostly blue) could be the change maker for this election.   Talk about a total nightmare for election observers from each party.

**********BREAKING NEWS  November 1, 2012***********

President Barrack Obama acting on behalf of the DNC has ordered Eric Holder to sue several States in the North East to delay the National Election due to hurricane Sandy.

Mr. Obama has indicated that wide spread power outages across large portions of the North East will cause significant voter disenfranchisement.

I could almost wouldn't put it past him to try something like this.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." --Norman Thomas, 1944

They were saying on fox last night that there is a possibility of postponing the election until late next week. They said this will be the first time in history that this has happen.

How can they change election day? It's constitutionally mandated to be on a specific day?   Come to think of it, doesn't allowing early voting violate that?

I am thinking that certain natural disasters can allow them. This hurricane would be considered one.

They were just discussing this on the Neal Boortz show....They said there is nothing in to Constitution to allow extending voting, but the individual states could extend the voting times.

The Congress may determine the Time of choosing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.

It sounds like if they extend it for the east coast then it would have to be changed for all states.

Bill Clinton is doing the President's dirty work today:

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/10/29/Clinton-ObamaMedia-politicize-Hurricane

Quote
For example, today, in Florida, former president Bill Clinton is campaigning on behalf of Obama, and already he's equating Sandy to what Americans will face should Romney win:

"We’re coming down to the 11th hour. We’re facing a violent storm,” Clinton said according to the Connecticut Mirror. “It’s nothing compared to the storm we’ll face if you don’t make the right decision in this election.”

Obama's media pals at NBC News are so desperate that they beat Clinton to the punch with an article written by Ed Schultz that went up when the storm's potential for destruction looked even worse than it does now:

Why Romney’s not ready for Hurricane Sandy

A massive storm is expected to claw its way up the Eastern Seaboard between now and Halloween night. Some forecasters say Hurricane Sandy will be worse than last year’s Hurricane Irene that hit the East Coast last year.

What will be interesting is to see how Mitt Romney reacts in the wake of the storm. …

But Mitt Romney would drastically cut funding for disaster relief agencies like FEMA. Romney won’t give specifics on his budget plan, but as Mother Jones noted in August[.]

NBC's Chief White House Correspondent, Chuck "The Goatee" Todd has been all over the airwaves today talking up how good it is for Obama to have this chance to look presidential, while Romney has "nothing to do." This of course is another lie of omission from Todd, because we all know Romney has donated campaign buses to aid in the evacuation. Team Romney has also pulled ads and stopped fundraising emails in states targeted by the storm

Obama is turning the hurrican in to political talking points and Romney is actually doing what ever he can to help the people in harms way....Now really, which one sounds more presidential to you?

You may have a point about early voting violating COTUS. However, COTUS doesn't specify a date, just that all states shall hold their elections on the same day. Federal Law, however, does specify the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, and O wouldn't be able to move that on a whim.

What makes you think that?

Mostly the fact that millions are without power and there is no saying when it will be turned back on. They were saying this morning that if the polling places don't have power to run the machines, they will use paper ballots. Which I would agree with....

Beck just said that the states can delay an election up to 20 days. Looks for the states who support obama to try that.

You demonstrate a way around that pesky Constitution requirement that all states vote the same day, along with the Federal Law mandating the Tuesday after the first Monday in November as election day, and I'll believe that.

Bingo.

The next 6 days will be interesting to say the least.
