HistoryIt is a scary fact that the history of this world is sometimes written with little regard for the facts and a definite political or social agenda. History is history, good or bad and should be recorded and preserved as an accurate record of what was actually transpiring during a chronological period of time, not what some ideologue busybody would like for it to have been. The truth should be told in all its stark reality and omitting facts is just as bad as adding or twisting facts and those who approve and practice this dereliction of duty are guilty of creating a travesty and doing a gross injustice to mankind. It has been said that those who do not learn from history will repeat it, but how can we keep from repeating it if we do not know about it?Recently in the United Kingdom, any mention of the Holocaust was removed from academic curriculum because it was said to offend the Muslims in the country who, in many cases, don't believe it happened anyway.Well I can personally avow to the validity of the Holocaust, the horror, the unbelievable cruelty and disregard for the dignity, or even the existence of human life, witnessed by the newsreels of German concentration camps where piles of naked, skeletal bodies stacked like so much firewood waited to be shoved into mass graves, covered over and forgotten about as if they'd never existed.Six million Jews died in Nazi Germany, not because they were a danger to Germany, but simply because they were Jews. Is it any wonder that the inscription on the Holocaust Memorial in Israel says, "Never again."?Any offense Muslims would experience by merely being made aware of this atrocity is absolutely nothing compared to the humility and hopelessness the victims experienced. Can you imagine being packed into boxcars shoulder to shoulder with no mercy and no concern about how many stayed alive to the end of the line? Can you imagine being treated like slaves, starved and beaten and humiliated in every fiendish way the maniacal minds of the Nazis could come up with? The world needs to be reminded of the Holocaust, over and over, time after time and there is no excuse for those who believe it never happened. There is gory and grisly evidence, pictures, testimonies and Jews still alive with Nazi tattoos on their wrists. For the U.K. to remove this sordid piece of history from the books their upcoming generations will study is not only a disservice to those generations, it is a disservice to every freedom loving human being on the face of the earth. Is radical Islam really any different from Nazism? Is it not their intention to totally annihilate Israel and conquer the world for Islam? Why is the world willing to bend over backwards to keep from offending any religion or sect of people? The truth is the truth and it needs to be preserved and faced, without editing, without change and without dangerous tampering at the hands of politically correct bureaucrats who are willing to distort the facts for their own squeamish, cowardly purposes. They are playing with fire. Wildfire. What do you think?Pray for our troopsGod Bless AmericaCharlie DanielsMay 9 , 2008
The history books are written by the winners. I suspect American history as now taught in schools would have an entirely different slant if the South had won the War of Northern Aggression.
