No surprises here. Look where Roberts wound up.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, it was reported that the U.S. Supreme Court had released its decision not to block a Texas law which bans abortion based on when a fetal heartbeat is detected, usually around six weeks. It was a 5-4 decision, with Chief Justice John Roberts voting with the more liberal justices.

From the Townhall link:

Additionally, the measure allows private citizens to pursue legal action against anyone who provides an abortion, helps someone access an abortion, or clinical staff who assist an abortion after the six-week threshold. There is one exception in the bill that allows for abortions later in pregnancy, strictly for “medical emergencies.”

There are no criminal or civil sanctions allowed by the Republic of Texas.  Enforcement is by civil suits brought by any citizen.  Also no sanctions against the mother.

Whoever thought up this manner of crafting the law is a f-ing genius.

...in defiance of Roe v Wade

RvW actually allows for regulation. It just hasn't been politically or judicially viable (phrasing?) until now.

Merrick Garland, the limp-dick Attorney General, announced a lawsuit filed against Texas for this law, claiming it's "unconstitutional."

I'm not going to link the article/video because it's stupid on its face. Garland is trying to make himself relevant, and he's too stupid to realize he can't.

There is a typo in the sentence:

It should read:

It was a 5-4 decision, with Chief Justice John Roberts voting with the more other liberal justices.

U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman (an Obama appointee) had issued an injunction against the Texas anti-abortion law a week or so ago, but the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay against that injunction.

That means that abortion providers, aka baby murderers, in the State of Texas will have to shut down their murder factories again.

Yeah, but that decision led to the Texas law that Abbott signed about a month ago making it illegal for abortion providers to abort children once a heartbeat is detected, usually at about 6 weeks (the usual caveats about the life of the mother being in jeopardy apply). That law, IIRC, stated that those abortion providers could be sued by private citizens which kinda upped the game.

That was challenged by the usual child murderers and the leftist U.S. district judge in Austin, Robert Pitman, issued an injunction against the law. Immediately, that decision was appealed to the Fifth Circuit, which issued a stay against the injunction -- which occurred yesterday.

In short, this story is evolving by the minute and then SCOTUS is going to hear the Mississippi v. (can't remember who) case this month which ostensibly will review Roe v. Wade.
