An Open Letter To Those Who Would Steal The 2012 Election
I originally wrote this piece on Sun Oct 15th 2006 and posted it on DU. I
am rather surprised and sick at heart to find that I can post it again and, with only a few minor changes, find it to be as relevant as it was six years ago and maybe even more so. I am incredibly sad and angry that since 2000, not enough has been done to safe-guard our right to vote and so we find that our supposedly free election of 2012 could be in serious jeopardy.
Dear Person Who Has Signed On To Help Steal The Election;
Most of us finally accept that the unthinkable has actually occurred; that thousands of votes in past elections were subverted, removed, destroyed and stolen along with the voting rights of thousands of Americans by you at the behest of your Masters.
And today, once again, we are witness to the Republican purge of ‘suspect’ voters in Florida. The only difference is that this time, your elected officials in Florida don’t give a damn who knows about their nasty little plan to steal another election. For some reason you and your regressive party feel that you are safe and can destroy the rights of any who would vote against your interests.
The idea of a theft of this magnitude must have once been a mere flicker of thought, a mind-blowing “what if†that metastasized all too quickly into your shameful and despicable acts against America. How could this have happened in the twenty-first century?
It has been said that the masterminds of the “conservative right’ have been carefully recruiting an ‘elite’ coterie of mindless minions over the last 30 years. During this time, a new paradigm has emerged with its own rules of cause and effect, with it’s own insane perceptions based upon a faulty foundation of narrow beliefs and fed with insidious, seductive and contagious lies.
Beginning with the elections of 2000, your Masters summoned their servants to come forth and “save democracy†and you answered that call. You spewed forth from the bowels of the smug and delusional ‘conservative base’, which had, for years, been seeded and grown in colleges that are not colleges. You have emerged to take your place in society with all the pride and arrogance of “true soldiers of the republicâ€, convinced beyond all reason that your cause was righteous because God was on your side. You volunteered for the front lines, willing to give your all in a fabricated ideological war of apocalyptic magnitude. It was your sacred duty to save America from the liberals and the godless evil they represented no matter the cost. So, in your deluded minds, and because your Masters said so, the end completely justified the means.
How could you have known that an unbalanced hierarchy was manipulating you? How could you know that a force of the powerful and wealthy had carefully constructed their cynical, calculating, amoral and psychotic version of reality so that they could, under many different guises, present their delusions to you as ‘truth’? Apparently it never occurred to you that their true goal was absolute and unchecked power for THEMSELVES, no matter the cost.
And you certainly excelled in your mission. You infiltrated the media, the evangelicals and the techno-wizards; you toiled as foot soldiers and organizers; you were among the hunters, the gatherers, the marketing specialists, the poll workers, the lobbyists, the motivators, the trainers, the entertainers, the professionals, the lawyers, the aides and assistants. And there were others of you who passed as elected officials; representing the very people against whom you conspired. You served your Masters well with the unwavering self-righteous conviction of the ignorant and lack-witted.
Their lies sustain you while you find new ways to prevent your fellow citizens from voting; their lies inspire you to use your computer skills to change the numbers; their lies give you purpose while working diligently to cover up your crimes. You are either dangerously naïve or have become as psychotic as your Masters. How can you continue to serve these vile and conscienceless creatures if you have –not- lost your minds?
It is a dark and terrible legacy that you leave to your children and your children’s children. Make no mistake. The generations to come will not be grateful to you for compromising their freedom with such treachery and for such a loathsome prize. The truth will prevail as it always does and history will judge the servants as well as the Masters in this campaign of calumny.
You may feel confident of another brilliant and semi-covert success in the upcoming election. Perhaps you assume that we have still learned nothing and will no doubt grow complacent because of the favorable polls. But, WE are not in denial. The sad truth is all too apparent - it is no longer unthinkable that a citizen of the United States could actually plan and commit a crime so despicable and damaging to the foundation of American Democracy just to win an election. Message received. We are watching you. And this time it will not and must not stand.

It's funny the only time an election is fair is when they win. :mental:

I'm assuming that would be the Black Panther thinking about standing outside a polling place with a baton, the illegal alien considering casting a ballot, the scores of deceased who manage to be ressurected for one November day every other year, or the Dem politician who magically finds new ballot boxes with just enough votes to put them over the top?

That idiot sounds like Ed Schultz yesterday. He was whining and wringing his hands over Florida and other states "stealing" the election from Obama. Those "other states" are the ones requiring voters to present ID's or who are purging their rolls of phantom voters.
I mean he was almsot hysterical about this. Comparing it to what Hitler and Stalin would do.
Psst DUmmies...the voters "purged" from the voter rolls in Florida equal .002% of the population that's registered to vote in the state.
