Title: Would you be brave enough to do this?
Post by: ABC-2 on October 13, 2021, 10:41:04 AM

Just finished watching Bezos' "Blue Origin" space capsule's flight take off & land.

I sure as hell wouldn't be, even if given the chance! ...

My heart was in my mouth the whole time, simply watching it!

I have a bad heart.  Would consult cardiologist and follow his advice.  I would love to go but am not suicidal.

Oops!

Just realized the capsule itself, was actually called "New Shepard" and was named for the first American in space, Alan Shepard.

I won't even walk around on the roof of my house (the pitch is fairly severe) and you're talking about flying on some kind of rocket 65 miles above the Earth's surface?

No way, Jose.

it's basically an amusement park ride at this point.  Pay your $$$, get in, sit down, strap in and go.

It's apparently a hydrogen-fueled rocket.

No way in hell am I strapping a bomb onto my butt.

Can't believe that I roofed a couple of houses in the heat of Texas during my college days, and I'm petrified of heights.  But when you're young and need $$$, you'll slave away to earn drinking/gas money.

I'll be lucky to make it to age 90, so I'd consider that would be a good accomplishment in and of itself.

I design, build and fly my own airplanes for fun. Of course I'd do this thing, given the chance.

To be honest any rocket you ride in, no matter what fuel it uses, is strapping a bomb to your butt. As for me? Would I take a ride in it?

Well, to quote Stone Cold Steve Austin....OH HELL YEAH!!!!

One advantage to having a bomb stuck to your ass is that if something goes wrong, it's over before you know it.
