Is anyone else turning off the lights and pretending they're not home on Halloween?

Many of the school districts in my state have been able to mandate masks in school in defiance of the idiot governor and as they battle it out in court. It has slowed the spread in the schools. But still, there is an approximate 54% vaccination rate around here and I don't want the unvaccinated standing at my front door. No Halloween at my house this year, again.

You're the idiot. Who the hell would want to go to your house anyways?

Bunch of cheapskates who don’t like kids and too stingy to buy candy to hand out. My guess is most of them believe it’s the governments job to hand out treats on Halloween, but only to the right people.

We aren't going to be sitting in the dark, but we aren't buying more than one bag of mixed candy bars.  We had one visitor last year and that was my niece with her little baby.

For the past 4-5 years we've been the only house in a two block stretch with a porch light on. :(  My wife has dressed up every year to hand out candy, but not this year.

Is he going to stick exclusively to handing out candy from his high panel van next to the park?

I'm not the biggest fan of Halloween really, but it's a kid thing so we do it. the kids freekin love it and I can't deny them that.
Problem is, we get absolutely mobbed. I spent 100 bucks on candy last year and ran out in about 45 minutes.
Upped the game a little for this year, I hate turning them away with nothing when I run out.
Like I said, it's a thing for the kids... the one thing that grates me about Halloween is when I get 16 year-old teenagers on my porch asking fro candy. I usually give them one shi***y sucker. the little kids, I let them dig out all they want. I'm running my own super-spreader event dammet

:lmao:  I remember that!  I remember she stipulated as well, that it should be just ONE pencil per CHILD.

We go all out for Halloween and all comers are welcome, grownups too.  Beer's cold.

ETA:  I rowed over to see.  Most of them can't stand kids or anything else, they'll be shutting their lights down and hiding under the bed.  Then there's these:

We bought one of those Granny Grabber things that extends so I can reach the top shelves in the kitchen. We used it last year to hand little bundles of candy out the window.

30. No. I built a candy chute last year to keep folks a safe distance away.

I will use it again this year.

Great memory, and recalled that from years gone by...

A couple of DUmp threads from the President George W. Bush and the President Trump eras.

Here's hoping this DUmmy's house gets egged and TP'd! Maybe even the good old "Burning bag of dog crap on the doorstep" treatment, too!
I won't be home on Halloween night, as I'll be at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, but a few days prior to that, I'll be at my church's Trunk or Treat event, and will be happily passing out candy to the kids there.

We don't keep count, but I think we typically get 30-40 T-or-T-ers. I think last year was in the 20-30 range, but I expect more this year. We sit on our front deck and enjoy watching the munchkins and their families.

Exactly. I think what the DUmmy means is that they are not permitted near places where children live, which limits them to living in trailers behind porn shops in the industrial part of town, or out in the sticks in a broken-down trailer.

This is a great time of the year for DUpipo: railing against candy-begging children; plotting gotcha-"discussion"-topics for family Thanksgiving gatherings; virtue-signaling about parents and siblings and aunts/uncles (Oh my!) they'll be cutting off for Christmas ...

DUmmies' good times!

The more I think about it, the madaboutharry’s behavior parallels the Dem party as it currently stands. The Dems have turned out the lights, Biden is hiding under the bed, Kamala is hiding in the closet, Shumer and Pelosi have ducked down behind some furniture, and everyone of them are afraid someone’s going to come to the door anyway. They are avoiding anything and everything where they may have to truly answer. But it doesn’t matter, because Halloween is coming, and people will notice who pretended they weren’t home.

Biden doesn't have to pretend. It's blatantly obvious that nobody's home.
