Health Care Industry Doesn't Want Repeal

It's interesting to note that stocks are down in the health care industry since the Supreme Court held oral arguments on the Affordable Care Act. People are selling hospital stock and stocks in a variety of insurance companies on speculation that the bill will be repealed in part or in whole. Most health care-related industries stand to lose if there is a repeal. It's not even clear that the pharmaceutical industry wants to see the law overturned at this point. They can certainly live with the deal they made, and they've put a ton of work into complying with the law that would all go to waste. If you wanted to make a gamble, you could make a small fortune betting on the stocks of these companies to go up if the the health care is upheld. And that fact alone should tell you that 100% of what the Republicans have been saying about ObamaCare is bullshit.

Since when has the left given a damn about what any industry wants? When the oil companies complain that the EPA is killing them the libs say good.

I love how they claim that what the people who read the health care bill say is bullshit.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

There may be a grain of truth in that statement....the helthcare industry wants to get paid at least a few pennies from someone for treating nonpaying, worthless, DUmmie asses.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I work in health care, he is full of crap.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Even if they want to keep it (which is a lie), why would it matter if it's found unconstitutional?

There are winners and losers in the health care industry no matter which way the Supreme Court comes down on it.  Any position you care to take on it would be viewed favorably by the people who would win under that outcome.  There is no unitary "Health care industry" position.

Small health care companies will have a hard time staying in business under Obamacare. Large companies might gobble them up. I do think that Obamacare in the long run will devour all private insurers or that they will totally be dependent on gov. mandates.

AARP is tickled shitless about Obamacare because they write most of the Medigap insurance policies. Obamacre will outlaw supplemental plans for seniors which will greatly increase AARP business. This rotten liberal outfit does not make it money off of dues. That is just a drop in the bucket; it makes almost a billion dollars off of it's overpriced insurance and mutual funds. The mutual funds that they promote have high fees and lousy returns which are bottom feeders.

The constitution only matters if they can somehow twist the meaning to suit their desires.

FUN FACT: in 2011 almost $100 billion was spent by the federal government getting ready to implement 0bama HellCare. I can't wait to hear the amount wasted in 2012 but we do know that HHS has spent or is spending almost a billion dollars to promote HellCare in advertising this year.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I don't care what the healthcare industry wants. Especially since the HMO structure was set up by Fat Teddy. I care about the greatest amount of liberty for the greatest number of people. HMO's only care about the greatest freedom to treat people like chattel.

And thus, the healthcare industry is aligned with 0bama and the statist.

It may be where I live but, I haven't seen any advertisements from HHS.  Do you suppose the ad agency's are another Solandra type deal.

I am wondering if any of those douchebags even read the bill yet? I am guessing that they didn't.

I can only assume that this talking point is because some insurers have agreed to allow kids on their parents insurance until age 26 regardless of the outcome of Obamacare -

- Which goes to show that competition works.... We can't have that in DUland now, can we ? So, it has to be that the healthcare industry loves Obamacare...

Which sets up an even worse conundrum for them.

If the 'for-profit' industry loves Obamacare, then obviously they can make more money with it than without it, which flies in the face of one of the primary driving forces behind its passage in the first place.

However I suspect that any result will be regarded as racism. Because they apparently still think that cries of racism turn a losing fight into a victory.

All but two doctors were bought out by larger healthcare companies as they look forward to Obamacare. The two that are not part of the group broke away due to the fact one of the insurance comanpies that is very popular for senior citizens also owns the health care group which limits options for the patients....

I know of patients that had to change primary doctors two or three times during all of these buy outs....most of these patients were senior citizens with many health problems. It was very hard on them.
