Title: A new favorite...
Post by: Flame on December 27, 2009, 09:02:49 AM
My husband's co-wroker brought these in to work, and he raved over them, got the recipe ,and we had them on Christmas.  Seriously wonderful stuff.

Bacon wrapped, cream cheese stuffed jalapenos.   More addictive than crack, I swear!

And EASY to make (especially if the hubby does all the work...lol).

Cut the jalepnos (fresh, of course) in half length ways.  Clean out the seeds and membranes so you don't ignite the inside of your mouth when you eat them.

Spread cream cheese in the cavity (I used the stuff in the tub, it spreads easier, but no the whipped kind).

Wrap a half slice of bacon around it.

Bake in the over at 350 for about 30 minutes (or until the bacon is done...we did closer to 45).

Heaven/Heart attack on a plate.

You can also buy the pre-made peppers with the cheese in them in the frozen isle in boxes or bags.       We defrost the peppers and cheese, fry bacon until it is not quite crisp, drain the oil and wrap the peppers with the bacon and bake for about 10 minutes.

A friend defrosts the peppers and cheese slices them very thin and stuffs mushrooms with them.

Try a bit of mild selsa on the top also--YUM.

Mmmm, peppers and bacon. I'll have to wait for summer for this as I find it hard to get fresh jalapenos here and so grow my own.

I don't have a greenhouse and the severe global warming tends to kill off outdoor pepper plants in the winter. I have two indoor plants but neither of them are jalapenos.
