I'm sorry; I dunno why photobucket deprives one of the sharp clarity.

The message, if the above isn't readable:

MEMORANDUM

to: Skinner, CEO, democraticunderground
from: franksolich, your best friend
date: November 15, 2012
re: Happy Thanksgiving

Hi old buddy, old friend, old pal!  How's it hanging?

This is a little early, but I'm guessing you might be taking off pretty soon, and wanted to send my best wishes to you and yours for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday before you left.

No point in getting a greeting after the event.

I must say you continue to amaze me, your remarkable patience and tolerance in putting up with the members of democraticunderground and their constant whining, carping, bitching, moaning, groaning; you, pal, are a saint.

I couldn't put up with it myself.

Here, you so magnanimously give them a place to romp and play, but rather than being grateful for all that you give them, they bawl that it isn't more, that it isn't what they want it to be, that you won't cater to their every silly whim.

Well, now you know somebody appreciates all that you give, and do for, these ungrateful ingrates.

Please also extend my good wishes of the season to Elad.

And you, sir, always have my best!

your good friend and most stalwart fan,
franksolich.

All the men here at CC will be growing neck beards. We will take photos and post them, then the ladies vote on who has the best neck beard.
The winner gets a case of beer and a pack of frozen mini tacos.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

No, even though my fellow alum would really like to; after all, there's the old school tie that binds.

But Skins is no DUmmie.

The primitives wish, very badly, to believe that franksolich is just a delusion, a bad dream, of theirs; that franksolich doesn't really exist.

The primitives trust Skins.

By responding to me, my fellow alum would be verifying that franksolich does indeed exist, and that would discombobulate the primitives beyond measure.

There should be no doubt that Skins really wishes to reciprocate, and so one can comfortably accept his unspoken good wishes as if they'd actually been said, or written.

And frank, what is the "Steve Dawes Award"?

The nominating thread for the top DUmmies will be posted some time this coming Sunday, and it will include the criteria for the "Steve," which is a complement to the long-established "Willie."

The nominating thread will however be only for reading until the following Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve, when it's opened up for nominations.

It's hoped that by doing this, members will read the rules before they jump into the thread nominating helter-skelter, willy-nilly.

It would be truly right and proper if Steve actually came in third place or lower in the award that bears his name.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Well, the big guy did come in third last year, for the top DUmmies, after the Taverner primitive and Vlada Mitty.

You may consider linking to the image rather than embedding it. The full-sized image is fine, but I believe there is a limit to the actual upper limit the forum allows for the image.

For instance, click the image below. It is a clickable image that is set to 200 pixels wide, but links to the actual large image.

He should come fourth in a field of three - that would be more true to real life.
