Welcome Token.  I am very sorry for you that you choose an ideology that can never, under any circumstance, work in the real world.

I always do wonder about the number of multi-millionaires, such as Ian McKellen and George Soros, who profess socialism.  Seems like insanity to me.  If they are truly socialists, why do that have so many resources that should be redistributed to the more needy?  How, exactly, can an economy be run on need?

I also wonder about the number of alleged environmentalists who spout leftist drivel when communist/socialist countries have the worst record on the environment as well as issues of individual rights.

Finally, after watching Law and Order UK for the first time last night, I am wondering what the difference is between "human rights" and individual rights.  It seems to me that if individual rights are protected, everybody's rights are protected, whereas the "human rights hoax" seems all about dividing us up and creating "special rights" that are capricious and, ultimately, unfair, and lead to the greatest misery for the greatest number of people.

In other words, leftism, when examined in the harsh light of reality and how humans actually are, seems to lead only to misery and poverty for all but the very, very few at the top.

Mine too.  I have to say, if so, I'm glad he stopped by.  The reason for that sentiment is because he's said some things on this thread that have made me see him in a different light. I've had my eye on him since he posted a F*** jobs post in the poverty section. I was astonished that someone could be so unabashedly proud of thinking that work is for suckers.  He was taken to task by some who say that pride in a days work is a worthy goal in life. 

Token, if you are who I think you are, please note that I will never agree with your economic ideas. They just aren't sustainable, and worse, I think your ideas create  false scapegoats out of those who want to work (or at least understand that some type of labor is essential to survival).  I am heartened by the fact that you don't appear to be an extremist on other issues that many of your cohorts are. I also appreciate that you didn't come over here and try to belittle us (disclaimer- I haven't read other threads or comments of yours. I'm referring to  this thread alone).
