What is everyone favorite breakfast food? Me, I really love biscuts and gravy or country ham with red eye gravy. The Yankee in me also really like bagels with lox, I haven't had one in SOOOO long.
-
Standard breakfast order:
2 eggs over medium, hash browns (not hash whites), bacon, and wheat toast. Coffee and water, of course.
-
Well. Since "food" means "meal" I'm happy to play. :p :p
Steak and eggs. (med. rare, over-easy) Side of bacon, Texas Toast.
Kinda plain but what can I do? :-)
Edit:
Forgot coffee. (black and lots of it) Large OJ
-
Oh man, I forgot about bevereges. I drink either coffee with an insane amount of sugar and half and half or Coke.

Eww. You put Coke in your coffee? :p

Rum and Coke.

Nooooooo, I said OR Coke. :p
-
Yes, you did say "or coke", but they way it read it left the reader with the impression you would use half & half or Coke in your coffee. The misunderstanding was not the reader's fault.
-
Geez, grammer nazis here. :-)
Fine. I drink either coffee with an insane amount of sugar with half and half. I also enjoy Coke with my breakfast.

Rum and Coke.
Do you poar it over you cornflakes? :-)

Beer.
+1

Omelette with mushrooms, sausage, tomatoes, peppers, cheese, homestyle potatoes, and toast with REAL butter and lime marmalade or strawberry preserves. I forgot to add--coffee with half and half and splenda
I'm ok with pancakes, but I like them how ******* Barrel makes them where the butter kind of crisps the edges.
I don't usually eat out though for breakfast---occasionally for a treat--not necessarily for monetary reasons but because I'd rather not become an obese shut in. :o

For all my life, breakfast has been my favorite meal to eat out. It's so...so...so CIVILIZED.

I think it should stay, that's funny! :-) What IS on the naughty word list. I knew Ron Paul was once.

I was poking fun. I followed the first time. (just putting that out there so's I'm not subject to grammar nazis down the road) (Not that I don't speak very well grammar) (not that I care how one spells grammer around here) (btw I also don't wish to be subjected to spelling nazis) (or the trouble of clicking on spell checker) (just trying to get along) (is there such a thing as a rant nazi?)

It is my favorite meal to eat out too, Undies.
My love of restaurant breakfast started when my dad was business agent for his union. We got to go to a convention every year and stay in a big nice hotel (I especially remember the Driskell Hotel in Corpus Christi). We boys would have to get up in the morning, put on our suits and ties, comb our hair, and go with the family down to the restaurant to have breakfast. It was great!

Relax. I was teasing. :-)

I don't remember the exact circumstances for me, but I know I love eating out for breakfast more then any other meal. I know there is something warm and fuzzy feeling wise for me so there is some memory there for the why.

Even though I rarely do it, I LOVE to go out to eat for breakfast. :)
What I like to get, at most restaurants with big breakfast menus (Cracker Barrel, IHOP) , is 3 pancakes with blueberry syrup, 2 eggs, cooked over medium, crispy bacon (if it's not crispy, I won't eat it), and either orange juice or milk.
If I had to pick ONE specific breakfast food, it would be bacon (pork OR turkey).

My daughter has worked for Cracker Barrel for years. I get 15% off! :old:

I miss Cracker Barrel, they don't have any here. :bawl:

Then you will have to move. It's not worth living somewhere a Cracker Barrel is not.
(it's where I buy all my gifts)

Huevos Rancheros with orange juice and coffee.
ETA: and bacon, home fries, and tequila.

That's not right. Cracker Barrels should be required at every busy interstate exit. LOL (if they aren't already there, of course :p )

Nobody does a skillet breakfast like I do.
I parboil some russets with salt & pepper in the water (potatoes in large "chips"), but not till they're done, then while that's going, cube up some thick-sliced bacon, then throw that in my 8-inch cast iron skillet and get it rockin'.
When the bacon is good and crispy, out with a slotted spoon, pour off SOME of the bacon fat, then the taters go in the pan. Season with salt & pepper again.
Get those nicely browned and about 5 minutes before they're done, I throw in some chopped onions and bell peppers and get those caramelized.
Just before the stuff is done, I'll sprinkle some killer cheddar over the whole pile and scramble up some eggs (in butter) and put it over everything. The eggs had BEST not be runny. No snot for me, thanks.
Adjust seasoning and garnish with chopped chives.
All that with some rye toast and butter (don't even talk to me about margarine), coffee, OJ, and I'm a happy camper.
-
Waffle House or IHOP.
WH, for sure. IHOP is too overpriced and rather chaotic.
-
Waffle House hashbrowns.. yum! :-)

Yep, plus they have unlimited bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on the menu.

How do you have them? I like mine covered, smothered, and chunked. :-)

That sounds like a plan to me.
The best way to insure perfect scrambled eggs is to cook them over low medium heat, remove them from the burner before you think they are done, cover the skillet, and let them finish cooking by retained heat. It never fails.

I keep mine plain, actually. My mom and I have this very weird habit of mixing ketchup, mustard, and several drops of Tabasco sauce as a nice addition to the hashbrowns. :-)

Yuck! One to many nights from the old days getting sober at the "Awful House". :( (good enough coffee though)

Correctly done hash browns are an art. It really depends on the cook.

I don't understand why you would do that to a beautiful thing like hash browns. Here you go, :mental: :-)

Alright then... I might have to try that. It's bad enough I let someone on a website (CU) nfluence me into putting ranch dressing on PIZZA. :p

Bacon.
When I'm eating out the order is Corned Beef Hash with scrambled eggs (then mix together) and a short stack of blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Then it's off to the cardiologist.
