Welcome Minky!
« on: December 01, 2011, 11:39:52 PM »
OK, Minky and I go way back, we posted together on a, I guess you can say Entertainment type board, and we met around 8 years ago when a friend of hers had a GW Bush avatar and I told her I loved the avatar, 1 thing led to another, and there were like 6 of us who battled about 30 or more liberals on a regular basis. She's an awesome debater and the 1 thing she did that I always loved was being 1-2 steps ahead of the left when they presented their arguments, she not only argued the original point but she had the ability to anticipate what they were going to say next and posted that :lmao:.

Good times! :lmao:

She was a registered Republican, and is now a registered Independent who leans towards conservatism. She's very smart and I'm sure you'll enjoy her.

What nice things you say about me, Ballygrl. You forgot to mention all the trouble I got into back then. Such a little fireball, I was.

It's easy to appear smart in a room full of idiots. I always felt so elitist because we had our small little group of five or six that stuck together all the time. Remember how we used to sit in chat together and egg each other on to jump into the trenches?

Honestly, I've mellowed out a bit. I still offer snarky remarks on occasion, but I don't care like I did back then. The permanent ban cooled my britches and I haven't found another place that draws me in and makes me want to partake. Maybe this will be the place!

Anyway, thanks for inviting me here. I have plans tomorrow evening, but I will definitely be back on Saturday to check out all the forums. Thanks again for the warm welcome. I've missed posting with you.

FYI, I've never been registered with a political party. I am unaffiliated. I get crap from all sides of the political arena. I'm a very important member of the voting population. I say that laughingly because I live in Kansas. Haha!

I'd say I fall between a conservative and a libertarian somewhere. Should those be capitalized? It's been a while.  :rotf:

Welcome, Minky!  Tell me something . . . are your musical tastes similar to Ballygrl's?

I have admittedly made fun of Ballygrl for her love of "The Boss" but it's all in good fun. :)

I'm not a fan though.

Truth be told, it's not often you'll find me listening to music of today. It's all too political. I cannot stand when someone uses their popularity as a sounding board for their political beliefs as if they have more knowledge of what's going on in the world. I seriously doubt they have the time to research what's really going on.

I love classic rock from the 60s and 70s, and when I'm cleaning my house I will crank the old tunes up and dance with my vacuum cleaner. It's quite the sight when I'm wearing my pink, fuzzy slippers.

I'm a talk radio listener. Boortz, Rush, Hannity, Michael Savage. I listen to them every single day while I'm working.

BSS is a fellow Bruce fan. In all the years I've known Minky I can't recall 1 conversation about music.

Well, Minky, that makes two of us who aren't all that enamored with "The Boss" -- who the hell named him that, anyway?  :argh:

When I want to see clenched teeth/underbite coupled with some schmuck screaming, I'll pull out old Kirk Douglas movies and watch those alongside recordings of Insane Clown Posse turned down to 1.5.

That aside, welcome to CC and I hope you have a great time.  :cheersmate:

Regarding the fuzzy pink slippers and the vacuum cleaner?

Whatever! I seem to remember asking over and over how you could enjoy the music of someone who sounds as if he's struggling on the toilet to go #2. Constipation recorded and sold for your enjoyment. :)

Have I already offended someone? Damn! LOL

Ballygrl, I just watched the Adam Carolla video posted in General Discussion and felt the urge to post it on Facebook. I've always been a fan, but now I like him even more. Oh, and I also find him sexier. :)

Oh, I missed the Adam video, I'll have to go look at it now. BTW I proudly booed Bruce when he spouted off a few years ago at a concert, actually there were so many boos that Bruce actually said "ok ok they're all bad".
