2 GOP Sources: It’s Romney

Two Republicans who know say McCain has apparently settled on Mitt Romney as his running mate.

I heard the same thing from a couple other places.

He could do worse.

Perfect!  :-)
Well, Fred Thompson would have been perfect but hey, it's a damn good selection.

I think Romney is the best choice. Then when he wins he needs to put Lieberman in as Attorney General or sumpin. maybe Sec. of State, oh and Carl Rove as Attorney General. stick it right in their eye!  :-)

Sounds good to me. He needed a true conservative.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Romney makes good sense.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

I think Romney would be a good choice. Especially considering MCain's age.

He is much more conservative than McCain and that might go a long way with the more conservative elements of the base that aren't pleased with McCain winning the nomination.

plugs a big hole re economic matters and an ex-guv.  very good choice.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

agreed.. and lets face it, Romney is very telegenic and speaks well off the cuff and is comfortable in front of the camera.

he's at a great age to go two terms as VP and then run for President..

if Romney has to go up against Biden, we know Biden will beek off at almost anything and Romney keeps his cool very well..

I think McCain must know by now who butters his bread. It's no coincidence that McCain gained a lot on Obama when he came out decisively pro-life (with a record to back it) at Saddleback. He has no other choice but to pick a conservative so I think Romney is an excellent choice.

Concur.  McCain could have done a lot better (say, not being the nominee at all) but he better get someone with executive-level experience and someone who the base likes if he wants a real shot at the WH.  Romney fills that bill.
