I am a guy from Northern Europe interested in nature, society, history, etc. I just did a search and this place struck me as the closest thing to something I might just be able to enjoy.

Ooops, it's Saturday afternoon, one of the slowest times of the week.
Don't be discouraged if it takes a while for others to respond; there's not many people around at this time.
The most popular times are usually the evenings (in the United States), which alas would be the middle of the night in your case.
But don't give up. Wait and see what happens.

Thank you, yeah that's right. It's easy to forget the time difference. I was defrosting the freezer a few hours ago and when I was done I took the dog for a walk. That's probably where America is right now, doing things around the house.

And there's a lot of good college football games going on right now, and most are watching those.
What you need is for the United States to be buried under a massive snowstorm which stops all activity. Then, it's for sure everybody's on the internet message-boards.

For some of us, especially those of us living in the Sandhills of Nebraska, while of course we don't much care for them, since they happen anyway, we consider them builders, strengtheners, of character.
