This is a subject which doesn't get enough attention. USPS (is it not sexy enough?)
Surprise, it lost money last year. I wonder, is it not due in large part to the cancellation of processing upgrades? Upgrades that had largely been funded and were already partially installed when Dejoy took the reins at Trump's behest. I suspect that the overall efficiency of the postal service suffered due to that "executive" decision, everything else Trump touched has suffered.

Does anyone have a running list of other "bad luck" the USPS has run into since Dejoy took over?

Have the prerequisites for removing him been achieved yet?

Is there a legitimate reason Dejoy hasn't been removed?

Is the current management of the USPS not a protential boon to Trump's/GOP's continuing attempts to screw up the 2024 contest?

Or... just maybe the USPS is not a responsible organization with the tens of billions of taxpayer dollars they are gifted with. It was just 2020 when USPS was gifted with $25 bi;;ion plus to make sure the mail in voter fraud was fraudulent enough to get a career criminal and traitor into the presidency. Now they are going to want another $10+ billion to dig them out of the hole they dug in less than tree years.... or it will be a THREAT TO OUR PRECIOUS DEMOCRACY!!!
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

$6.5 billion in loss this last fiscal year.

Mostly due to drop in 1st class mail volume, competition in package delivery, and due to increased costs in modernization...

... including replacing the entire delivery fleet with electric vehicles...

That was supposed to happen 3 years ago.  Still not done. Now they've stopped reparing current vehicles in the fleet, causing offices to lease out commercial vehicles to continue to operate...

It's a shit show.

USPS is the poster child of goobermint incompetence. When I had my shop my mail man used to tell me stories of some of the incompetence and waste of time that went on.plus the inability to get rid of useless employees

Meh. They just need more DEI in the employees and also the stamps they produce.

TBH, not ALL of it is their fault.  We pay a LOT of bills on line that used to go thru the USPS.  Trucks still gotta run, but they're handling a fraction of the volume they used to.  Businesses are pushing way hard to get people to go 'paperless' to cut costs as well.  I can't remember the last bill we paid by mail.

I get paper bills as a personal preference; too easy to disregard an email.

Then I pay them on line...

I'm the other way around.

Paper bills would get lost in the stack of junk mail I get from folks trying to contact me about my car's extended warranty or offering me their credit card at 37.9% interest. So I track my bills with an Excel spreadsheet, pay them online, and get the monthly statements in my email inbox.

I pay local, state and federal taxes using the mail as some charge an extra fee to pay online.

Me too, my email is full of spam and I don’t have time to filter out my bills.
