Officials said he was found hanging in his cell around 9:20 p.m.

Prison medical staff began performing lifesaving measures. Castro was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m.

Castro was sentenced to life in prison for holding three women captive in Cleveland for more than a decade and raping them repeatedly.

I cannot believe he hung himself. I would have to see the picture of him hanging, and what he was hanging FROM, for there to be any plausibility. Most modern jails have no protrusions at a height that would allow for hanging in that nature. I'm sure the press weren't too inquisitive in this regard, and the prison certainly aren't releasing pictures.

100% assisted suicide; ie, execution. I don't consider it murder. Ask a guard (CO) from that jail and you will get the lowdown.

Interesting viewpoint, but depending on his security level, i.e., 1-5, he might've had the opportunity.

Castro was submitted to staggered 30-minute observations around the clock, but that tells me that isn't level 5, "administrative maximum".

Covering up a high-profile case like this would be remarkably stupid on the part of the warden and other prison officials. But I'd be the first to say that such stupidity exists in spades in bureaucracies of all types.
