Hostage dies as French attack Somali pirates

The luxury yacht, Tanit, was captured by pirates off Somalia last weekend.

"Four hostages, including a child, were freed from the hijacked yacht after almost a week of captivity, Nicolas Sarkozy's office said.

The French military decided to move in when pirates refused their offers and increased threats against the hostages, it said.

A defense ministry source told CNN the pirates were threatening to execute their captives.

The four adults and a child had been held aboard their yacht, the Tanit, since it was seized in the Gulf of Aden on Saturday, the president's statement said.

There has been a series of high-profile and increasingly sophisticated pirate attacks in recent months." Link

Sarkozy found a good way to make 0Bama look foolish after snubbing his invitation to Normandy. When the French make you look weak, it's really bad.  :banghead:

Yes, last yr they did go after their ppl held hostage. Now the terrorist thug pirates know what we've all know for a while. Obama is the nutless wonderhorse. And Sarcozeeee looks more manly even wearing his 3 inch lift shoes. Yikes! The pirates still have about 200 hundred hostages, don't they? The US should have been prepared for this crap. It's not like we hadn't heard about this before. Even Joe Biden knew about it.

Honestly did anyone expect anything different from 0Bama?  All during the primaries and the general election, he stood back and waited to see which way the wind was blowing before even making a statement.

He still hasn't made any statement directly about the pirate situation.
He's been relatively quiet about the N. Korea missile launch after the Security Council slapped him down.
He hasn't said anything about NATO turning down his requests for more combat troops.

He is the epitome of the empty suit that most of us said he was.
