UN Climate Snake Oil Roadshow in Cancun gets extra sciencey

With United Nations climate negotiators facing an uphill battle to advance their goal of reducing emissions linked to global warming, it's no surprise that the woman steering the talks appealed to a Mayan goddess Monday.

Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, invoked the ancient jaguar goddess Ixchel in her opening statement to delegates gathered in Cancun, Mexico, noting that Ixchel was not only goddess of the moon, but also "the goddess of reason, creativity and weaving. May she inspire you -- because today, you are gathered in Cancun to weave together the elements of a solid response to climate change, using both reason and creativity as your tools."

According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Ummmmmmmmm.............................ya.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

This will really help their credibility when the MSM reports on it.  Oh wait, never mind.

Didn't the goddess tell her the world ends in 2012?
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

I see nothing wrong with this, she is just stating the traditions of her country and most likely is a Christian.

We have in Christianity Santa Claus, Saint Patrick, Saint George that slew dragons, Astrology, and who knows how many superstitions.

Why do we put up a Christmas tree each year,  why do Christians wear a cross about their neck, why do we have Fat Tuesday or Lent.??

Why do farmers plant crops by the time of the moon phases or castrate cattle, horses and sheep by the moon.??     Dig fence posts by the moon so they will hold.?

Where did the term Lunetic come from, is it because the crime rate goes up just before and after a full moon???

One can be a Christian and still believe that there are things they do not understand about the moons effect on life on earth, one can even find a Saint or Goddess to if you will to try to explain the moons gravity and the effect on earth.

I defy you to find an Christian belief that has not borrowed from the Pagans some sort of belief and Incorporated it into Christianity.
