The thread has only been on DU for about an hour. The 7 Replies all agree with Google canning the morons. This one is rather colorful:
...

:rotf: The thread is ~19 hours old, and only 8 Replies. The normally verbose DUpipo don't want to talk about Google's action! :rotf: Perhaps many DUpipo agree with the content of the protests but know that how they did it was stupidly wrong.

Perhaps MesSNBC guests know that MesSNBC are that stupid.

David...David...David Ignatius on...on...on Mourning Joe:
His…halting…cadence is designed to…to…make you think that he’s carefully…contemplating every nuance of every word. Extremely annoying.

I used to know this guy who spoke that way and one day I said to him: Why don’t you think and consider what you want to say and then, only then, say it, instead of wasting my time while you’re choosing your words.

Phoney, empty vessel. He’s not said one thing ever that any reasonably up to date informed individual couldn’t say, no matter the political viewpoint. Shallow…but…he…speaks…slowly so therefore he’s “learn-ed”.

Pro-Palestinian protesters make the Dems look bad. That's the only reason they're canning them. If this were a Republican in office, these same employees would be praised.

This is a Cindy Sheehan and a dozen other types like her redo. You're only good with the party when it benefits them, otherwise you're out. Right now, Palestinian protesters are out. Next time around, they could be in again.

Read Google's memo warning employees to 'think again'

Googlers,

You may have seen reports of protests at some of our offices yesterday. Unfortunately, a number of employees brought the event into our buildings in New York and Sunnyvale. They took over office spaces, defaced our property, and physically impeded the work of other Googlers. Their behavior was unacceptable, extremely disruptive, and made co-workers feel threatened. We placed employees involved under investigation and cut their access to our systems. Those who refused to leave were arrested by law enforcement and removed from our offices.

Following investigation, today we terminated the employment of twenty-eight employees found to be involved. We will continue to investigate and take action as needed.

Behavior like this has no place in our workplace and we will not tolerate it. It clearly violates multiple policies that all employees must adhere to – including our Code of Conduct and Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, Retaliation, Standards of Conduct, and Workplace Concerns.

We are a place of business and every Googler is expected to read our policies and apply them to how they conduct themselves and communicate in our workplace. The overwhelming majority of our employees do the right thing. If you're one of the few who are tempted to think we're going to overlook conduct that violates our policies, think again. The company takes this extremely seriously, and we will continue to apply our longstanding policies to take action against disruptive behavior – up to and including termination.

You should expect to hear more from leaders about standards of behavior and discourse in the workplace.

NPR Chief Bragged About Taking Censorship Orders From Feds As Head Of Wikipedia

Katherine Maher, the new CEO of National Public Radio (NPR), previously bragged about pushing censorship on behalf of government officials.

In a clip posted to X by journalist Christopher Rufo, Maher, who previously served as CEO of Wikipedia, said she “took a very active approach to disinformation,” based on “conversations with government” through 2020. Maher also said that approach was established as “a model for future elections outside the U.S.”

Maher joined NPR as CEO of the far-left, taxpayer-funded outlet last month. Prior to taking the helm of the state media outlet, Maher served as CEO of Wikimedia Foundation from March 2016 to April 2021, according to her LinkedIn page. The Wikimedia Foundation runs Wikipedia, the seventh-most visited website in the world. It was under Maher’s tenure that Wikipedia tried to eliminate The Federalist’s online entry.

In February 2021, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger condemned the online encyclopedia’s leftward shift: “Wikipedia’s ideological and religious bias is real and troubling, particularly in a resource that continues to be treated by many as an unbiased reference work.”

This is a clear violation of the First Amendment.

NYPD arrests 108 people at Columbia University after anti-Israel agitators set up encampment on campus

Police removed anti-Israel protesters from Columbia University's campus in New York City on Thursday, after the demonstrating students had set up an encampment on a campus lawn, and announced the suspension of those students involved.

In total, 108 people were arrested and given a summons for trespassing, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said during an early evening press conference. Two people were additionally given a summons for obstruction of governmental administration.

The daughter of Rep. IIhan Omar, D-Minn., was arrested and given a trespass summons, the NYPD said.

NYPD officers noted that while many of the protesters were peaceful and didn't resist arrest. However, around 500 students left their classrooms and told officers they were the "KKK," "baby killers" and to "go kill ourselves," a police official said.

"It was very sad to see," he said.

The protesters were given a chance. They chose to ignore it.
