Title: PS3 consoles
Post by: thundley4 on February 01, 2010, 11:41:36 AM
My wife is wanting to get a PS3. Is there any benefit to getting the one with the bigger hard drive? Do saved games take that much room?

Game save don't required much space on the HD. About 10 KB is a rough estimate on a per-game save content.

What's the purpose of the big hard drives, downloading/storing music and movies?  I didn't think saved games would take much space since the memory cards for the PS2 were measured in megabytes.

Pretty much. Also, throw in web-browsing content and applications to that need for space.

It sounds like the smaller 120 gig drive would be plenty, then.
