The company that produces M&Ms, 3 Musketeers, Snickers and Twix bars has vowed to stop shipping any Mars chocolate products that exceed 250 calories per portion by the end of 2013.  This move is part of an agreement Mars signed with Michelle Obama's Partnership for a Healthier America.

Right now a regular Snickers bar has 280 calories and each Twix cookie bar has 130 calories (but let's be honest, who eats just one?).

Mars will most likely stop producing its king-sized candy bars all together since the large Snickers bar weighs in at 510 calories.

I eat candy bars a grand total of about 6 times a year.  I had one of those super-sized snickers today, and if I unleashed the expletive filled rant I feel right now, my deceased grandma would take offense, so I won't.

Way to give in, Mars.

I buy King Size candy bars and eat that one throughout the week.  My favorite is Kit Kat bars.  Eight pieces for only $1.24 at Walmart.  Or close to it, haven't bought one in a couple of months.  But I'll break one bar off and throw the rest of it into the freezer.  It's about self control.  If someone wants to eat a bunch of king size bars all week, that's their deal.

I love me some Snicker bars too.  I don't want to eat a bunch of Snickers minis.  It would take about 10 minis to rid my craving.  I don't want 10 wrappers.

I buy one every once in a while.  Sometimes they only have the regular bars instead of the "king size" Snickers.  I wind up buying two regular bars to make up for it.

A co-worker bought a Snickers bar out of the vending machine at work today. It was 280 calories, so it shouldn't take much to drop those calories and raise the price at the same time.

The absolute control they're trying to take over our lives in so many insidious ways gets me sick.

But as usual with the Dims, it's form over substance. How dumb are they? What are they trying to accomplish? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that, duh, you could eat 2 or 3 or 4 or however many you want. It's just plain dumb.

I bet she eats a bag of candy a night when no one can see her.  :-)

Yet allowing churches to have control over what their health plan includes is to them the height of facism...a$$holes!  I love snickers, I usually indulge when Halloween comes around and we have that kind of stuff around and then, I might have 10 of the mini-bite things you get in their Halloween buckets. Like EC said, it's about self-control. So now, my consumption, should I choose to have a full size candy par, will be hindered by the person who can't help but pop 2 of those out of the candy machine a day and now has diabetes.  :thatsright: So I suffere for his lack of self-control.  :banghead: Why do I get the feeling, the price is going to say exactly the same too for about 2 ounces less of candy bar.  :thatsright:

I buy the gigando bags of M&M's, a couple of pounds for not quite $9. My M&M jar holds 4.5 pounds, and buying them in the gigando bag is the affordable way to do it.

That amount will last me about 6 weeks to 2 months, depending on whether or not someone else gets into them, as I have a 2 tablespoon scoop in there and that's about what I take for a serving, at least once maybe a couple more times a day, depending on my "need" for peace and comfort.

Last I checked, I am well over the age of 21 (  :bawl: ) and if I want to eat all 3+ pounds in one sitting...I WILL!! I went out and EARNED the money to pay for them, it's my body and health, and MY RIGHT TO EAT THEM IF I WANT!!!!  

Michelle Obama needs to get the hell out of my personal life!!!
