I do not wish the JPR board cyber-harm, but a discussion board needs Admin(s) who are:
* Active;
* Have great cyber-chops.
RO had an absentee owner/Admin, and 3 month shut-down due to a hack attack and the owner having too much life illustrates the former. FWIW, I haven't logged on to RO in some 14 months. After 3 months of developing other habits and giving it 6 months' trial (new, very different board SW) I saw no compelling reason to become active there again.
It sounds like DI is currently suffering from the latter, Admins with inadequate cyber-chops to make a clean migration and help members like OS. If there are enough like OS it could hurt the board by frustrating some people into moving on. And then there's their history that didn't/couldn't get migrated over ...
