Biden Fumbles Clinton Oath

Mockery of and apologies to the Supreme Court chief justice aside, Vice President Biden on Monday learned how difficult it is to deliver an oath of office.

The vice president fumbled his words while swearing in Hillary Clinton as secretary of state in a  mock ceremony held at Foggy Bottom.

After smoothly saying and having Clinton repeat that she does "solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic," Biden, who was using a note card, faltered.

"... that I will bear -- excuse me ... that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same ..."  ...

I surprised that either one of them could make it through this. You know they were laughing their asses off about that whole "defending the constitution" bit.  :-)

He got hung up on the word "bear."

He was thinking of the homophone of the word "bear" - being "bare."

I think he and Hillary have a thing going on.  :lmao:

I heard that today and it was like biden thought he was doing an episode of MadTV.

It is ceremonial but should be solemn.

The new veep is as stupid as we all thought he is.  And crass and classless.

Just to be clear the word "Strategery" was coined by SNL.  Not that it isn't a great word.  But it's like that thing where SNL does a skit about someone and suddenly everyone thinks it is something the person actually said.  Like the "I can see Russia from my back yard" or whatever that was.

I just cannot believe the story. Joe Biden or any Democrat making a mistake? What's next: The Democrats nominating cabinet secretaries having tax and/or other problems? Forsooth!

When I first read the article, it seemed that "I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same ..."  was referring to "all enemies, foreign and domestic."
