Dogs, of course, and much more rarely cats.

But this guy and his teammates rescue a bald eagle from a rough river.

It's a short video, but it warms my heart. This noble raptor, apparently a female, rescued by a couple of folks who didn't give up and continued following her in that river.

Yes, bald eagles can and do drown in rivers or the sea. They are not ospreys, which are much more capable of fishing than are eagles. Ospreys eat fish exclusively while eagles of all species go after land-based critters as well as fish.
