Jr will not sweep Daytona........I wish he would, yet he won't. I'd like to see MW win another one, yet I don;t think he will today. Martin winning would be great..............

Well I'm going back to watching the race so watch out for the flying chicken bones  :cheersmate:

brought to you by a beer drinking, chicken bone tossing Noprth carolina redneck  :-)

This is like the only thing on TV -- I don't generally watch NASCAR (and I just got to the hotel from my flight).  I assume it is normal for the annoucners toss a bunch of "good-ol-boy-isms" around?  I think only one sentence in 10 is a straight-forward description of the action.

Sixteen laps to go . . . and another caution . . . but only the fifth one today.  Clint Bowyer just spun, but I think he was "helped" by Juan Pablo Montoya . . .

 :rotf:

Dunno. But I guess of the the sponsors to get free crap from you could do worse than the Home Depot.

On edit:

DIRECTV and Domino's Pizza would be a pretty nice combo. (insert fat Jared pic here)  :p

On edit (again):

CH beat me to the Jared joke.

Hopefully your comment is just based on ignorance of the sport.  A little research into its history might just explain its fan base.

Let me ask you -- does it piss you off that someone like me can walk in, turn on the TV and watch with 36 laps to go, kinda watch a little bnit, then watch the best 10 seconds in NASCAR in quite some time?  While you real followers of the sport have been watching all these races and all these laps?

It cracks me up and it has happened to me before with other sports.  Sometimes I think I am a TV Forrest Gump. (LOL)

I do the same thing.  I watch the pole and come back two hours later for the last 36 laps.

LOL -- good plan.

But isn't that like watching the KO for the SuperBowl then coming back for the last 1/2 of the 4th Quarter?

It's GREEEEEEEN.

And his '88' logo on the scrolling ticker just looks like a plain white box.

Gotta say that I was pretty surprised to see Ryan Newman win.  He hadn't been to the winner's circle since September of 2005.  And it was a true team win, as Kurt Busch pushed Newman past Tony Stewart on the back straight.  Dodges took six of the top 10 positions, Toyota two, with Ford and Chevy one each.
