Title: SECCHI Image (What is that?)
Post by: mrclose on August 21, 2014, 08:44:40 PM
Amazing photo from SECCHI HI2 dated August 18, 2014.

What the heck is that thing?!

The big dot on the right with the line going through it is the planet Venus.

OK MrClose, you need to fill us in  as some of us do not follow the Stars often.

I see the Venus you mention but have no idea what you are wondering about. The photo reminds me of a Petri dish under a microscope.

More information please, these things as you brought to us may be seen by a 4 year old that sees what we adults ignore.  Kids do have a way of seeing what is really there while Adults see what they expect to see.

I think he's talking about the circle to the left of the bow shaped object.

It appears to have a dark spot or hole in the middle of it.

This is exactly what UFO nuts love. An obscure image open to any interpretation.
It could be a speck of space dust floating in front of the camera lens, but a UFO nut will proudly tell you this is proof that alien spaceships are visiting the earth.

This is also exactly why I am a UFO skeptic. Too many people Point to unidentified lights in the sky and jump to the wild conclusions of spacecraft

There are hundreds  of UFOs. When you see a light moving across the sky, do you know what type of jet or plane it is? If not, then it is an unidentified flying object.  :-)

I know what you meant, though.  I don't believe any intelligent aliens from outer space are visiting us, either. I used to want to believe, but the facts don't fit.
