Title: Kindle free books - recommendations
Post by: bijou on February 10, 2011, 01:34:23 PM
There are lots of free books available for Kindles. Do you have any recommendations?

I have enjoyed Dracula by Bram Stoker and although I know the story this is the first time I have read the book.
I'm currently reading Invisible by Lorena McCourt (it's a cosy mystery with and the heroine is an elderly lady). I have also enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes collections which are free (although there is a small charge for the complete Sherlock Holmes set.)

My all time favorite is "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen. The title is a reference to Proverbs 23:7, and the book focuses on the powerful impact of our thoughts. It's phenomenal. If you prefer fiction, there are a lot of great Mark Twain stories, both short stories and full novels.

Like I said, my favorite is "As a Man Thinketh." This article also mentions some other good ones:
