Mid-Campaign Romney Report
« on: July 31, 2012, 01:33:33 PM »
I have gone on record stating that I wanted someone conservative, such as Herman Cain or Rick Santorum to win the nomination, in the past. I had even gone so far as to imply that Romney would not be as conservative as we needed the president to be, and certainly not enough to turn back the support of Obama policies, certainly not presidential enough to institute a return of American politics to its more traditional values.

We all remember the primary fights, and how the press treated Romney with relative kid gloves compared to other candidates such as Santorum, Cain, and Michele Bachmann. They had nothing but gushing words for John Huntsman as well, but let's be clear: Romney was the only first tier candidate who represented the only possible candidate who could depress the Tea Party vote, so that was the primary reason to push him over the others. Most conservatives, including Levin and others, were rightly concerned about Romney's credentials for presiding over what will be the mess of the most repressive regime in modern history, especially with Romneycare and his other RINO-esque values.

I myself was very pessimistic about everything, especially when the libs got to Cain via the sexual harassment charges. To me, this is the reason why primaries can NOT be subjected to outside influences such as liberal media with talking points in EVERY debate. But that's another matter.

At this point, Romney has been the presumptive GOP nominee for the past few months, so there is no question whom I'm supporting. That's not the point. My question is this: How is everyone feeling, as candidly and as pragmatically, and yes, as critically, about how Romney will preside as our chief executive?

Keep in mind that a yak could beat Obama, so it's not about winning the election. Becoming president is not the end goal, which is obvious. The end goal is a return of American culture to that of its republican form of governance (states' rights), a permanent return of a sound fiscal policy including REAL fair taxation, not the "fair share" confiscatory rates of the socialists, and finally a strong, unabated defense of our country, which clearly delineates between countries who are migrating to full, true free-market economies from those whom are socialist, oppressive, and demeaning?

This is key. I'm not trying to live on the ups and downs of his campaign; I'm certainly paying no heed to the mainstream media. But I am looking into signals from the campaign that Romney will preside with the absolutely necessary conservatism, along with a conservatively-trending Senate and conservative House, that revitalizing America will require. Are they there?
