I've seen multiple sources on this story, the most recent of which has Romney's campaign pushing for redistricting that would put Allen West out of office.
Dunno about that, but nothing surprises me anymore. Romney is NOT to be trusted.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- House Redistricting Committee Chairman Will Weatherford says the GOP-controlled Florida Legislature is not targeting Republican U.S. Rep. Allen West.
In a post on his Facebook page Monday, Weatherford wrote that claim is "patently false."
West, a tea party favorite, unseated Democrat Ron Klein in the Republican sweep in 2010. His current district is drawn through some of South Florida's wealthiest neighborhoods.
Redistricting plans drafted by the Florida Legislature, though, would give West's South Florida district a decidedly Democratic lean.

That's drawn complaints from some conservatives including radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. He said it appears to be an attempt by establishment Republicans to "take the tea party out."
Weatherford said in his post that the congressional map was drawn to comply with new anti-gerrymandering standards in the Florida Constitution.
He wrote he personally supports West but that cannot trump the constitution.
The new districts take effect this spring unless there are challenges that delay their approval.
