We have 3 potential 1st-rounders in Michael Oher, Greg Hardy, and Peria Jerry. That's 3, out of 32 picks, from one team. Problem is, we have to replace those awesome guys.  :thatsright:

BTW, Michael Oher's story is truly compelling and one that could make a damn good Hallmark story.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I was proud to see all of the mississippi bowl teams win.  your guys had a much better bowl, and a much, MUCH tougher opponent, but I think our state did quite well this season.

Oh hell yeah, but he didn't have a thing to do with getting Oher. Oher was destined to go because of the Touhy's. Not that they forced him, but I think he felt it would be an honor to his adoptive family.

Orgeron has always been a helluva recruiter. He just can't coach worth a shit. What Nutt did with O's players should tell everyone that. We went 3-21 with that fool, and won the Cotton Bowl over a #7 team with Nutt.

AWESOME story Rebel! I cried and laughed. Esp at this -

Quote
Michael,” said Sean, “where were you taking him anyway?”

“I was gonna put him on the bus,” Michael said.

Parked on the other side of the chain-link fence was, in fact, the Munford team bus.

“The bus?” Sean asked.

“I got tired of him talking,” Michael said. “It was time for him to go home.”

Sean thought he must be joking. He wasn’t. Michael had thought it all through in advance; he had been waiting nearly half a football game to do just exactly what he had very nearly done. To pick up this trash-talking defensive end and take him not to the chain-link fence but through the chain-link fence. To the bus. And then put him on the bus. And Sean began to laugh.

It was nice to read a story about a throw away Memphis kid who had no chance end up with a happy ending.

....who will probably wind up with a 7-year, 50+ million dollar contract with an NFL team. God Bless him. From what I've read, an explosive blind-side tackle is one of the highest paid positions on the team. QB's know they can be sacked for a loss, but getting a damn good blind-side tackle decreases those chances.

He can play both sides, but seriously, how many left-handed QB's are out there?

ok, I missed ken stabler and steve young, notably.  but you have to admit that lefty QBs are the exception to the rule.

it's not like being a left handed second baseman, but it is apparently close.

Agreed -- OUTSTANDING read.  I can't wait to see him get drafted into the NFL. But he'll need his new parents then more than ever.
