Title: dwarf fruit trees
Post by: sondrab on March 04, 2012, 02:52:59 PM
Has anyone seen or heard of these? I have a small area suitable for growing and am seriously considering these.

I have a similar sized tree, but it's a pear tree.  It took a while to get pears from it (I think it was the second year and then I only got one that year). After four years I got a few.  When you get one, check how mature it is and try and get one that will fruit this year so you can get started more quickly.

Be careful what you eat, because you are what you eat. Hitlary eats pears.

LOL, not looking for dwarf foods, just small area growing. Don't have room for much more plus would rather live off home grown as much as possible. Less likely to have pesticides etc.

I had dwarf apple trees in NC that did great, lots of fruit. But then everything grows in NC- South Texas is a challenge, unless you like cacti and huisache. :argh:
