Folks the economy is indeed getting better
no, not from what Bernacke has been saying, or the silly confidence numbers. Our local gaming convention, yes toy soldiers, it's doubled from last year.
SO? You may ask. People came from all the way to Washington State, Arizona and Nevada, for a smallish event in San Diego. Yup, people are indeed confident they can blow some quid on purely a luxury thing.
Now need to write that story. Purely we have a gaming convention in this town.
Oh and we did get, between the two cameras A LOT of photos... as is I take more than I can ever use, so will be posting a few later in the day... but yes, the economy is getting better.
(And since we entered minis into the painting contest as well, I will be going to do some gaming in the afternoon, after article and photos are filed)

Of course, we're still over 8 percent unemployment and I'll be willing to bet dollars to donuts that the GDP is growing at less than 1 percent when the 2Q numbers come out. If we hit negative growth in the 3rd Quarter, Obumbles is thankfully toast.

I went to town today. During my short trip I saw two different people at two different street intersections with cardboard signs saying they needed money for food. The most I ever saw under Bush was one. So 0 has doubled the economy?

Of course, nobody seems to give a shit that heating oil is going to be over $4/gal next winter, and if anyone thinks next year is going to be as mild as this last winter, someone is going to be VERY disappointed, and very broke.

We were thrilled with the mild winter, I only got 1 gas bill for over $200, we were even tempted to join the budget plan.

$3.95 a gallon here, and I honestly am stunned now by grocery prices - just stunned. My bank offers this nice pie chart to break down how much you are spending on certain categories from your account and we were blown away by the gas and grocery categories.

His fame quickly evaporated as the war continued into the insurgency phase; from the middle of 2003 onward, he faded from the public spotlight, and was no longer a figure in the war.
Although questioned by American authorities, al-Sahhaf was released, and there has been no suggestion of charging or detaining him for his role in the Saddam Hussein government. He is now living in the United Arab Emirates with his family.

Yes, that's pretty much the whole shebang. There were two rooms, but the other one only had about 6-7 people in it. The was also a room upstairs with board games strewn about, but there was nobody in it when I looked. Again, this was at 11am, I'm sure it got busier after I left.

There a number of mini conventions like this, they have a target audience and this looks to be about average. they are hosted by a small group or a few stores. Ive seen really small cons hosted by just one store, they used their own floor space instead of renting out at a hotel.
You're probably thinking about the big massive sci-fi conventions where thousands show up...Those are fun.

6. Years ago...ok decades ago
I had a Tamron with the Olympus. It worked like a charm and I remember it fondly. It s probably in storage but with new gear...even with adapter, forget 'bout it. Why I am willing to look at non oem. The kit lens by the way is light, and the tele up to 200 I know exactly which one you are talking about. Was considering it.
Photographers vest, I got one and I find it indispensable. Plenty of pockets for gear, extra batteries, the point and shoot that now works as secondary, notebooks...you mention it, goes in there. I would highly recomend one to anybody who finds themselves out there doing any kind of somewhat serious photography.
Oh we laughed...mine is black with reflective...need to add roll of electrical if I need to hide...( yes I did that in a few shootouts in EMS). Imagine one in woodland cammy with reflective tape. it was kind of funny.

I agree. I pay no attention to how people look - which is shallowness outgrown in high school. I do think the person captured by the photo is in fact Nads due to the vest, and comparison to her facebook picture. That said, she is such a miserable person who is desperate for superiority, which she tries to obtain through google knowledge.

I know a couple of liberals who are unhappy with Obama, not because of the economy or the job he is doing. It is because they don't think he is liberal enough for them. For example; they wanted the single payer statute with Obamacare and didn't get it.

Yes, I think she can be annoying, but I don't know, I do think she tries to be helpful, it's just that she gets mad if people challenge her. I think that her trying to help makes her come across as sweet to me at times for some reason. She also could be kind of lonely, and the fact that she was sitting and standing alone made me feel sorry for her. I admit though that I'm a sap a lot of the time.
