What's the character-limit here?
None that I know of.

None that I know of.
That was actually a joke; I thought about posting my "problems," which would exceed a 10,000-character character limit, but actually it just boils down to that I hope to gracefully and gratefully accept what's given me, whether a little or a lot; I don't know at the moment.
So that was the deal, and I was trying to make a funny.....and flopped.

I shall pray for Frank's strength to accept what's given him, and the knowledge that I get his funny. Amen.

Sad news lug-nut. I will remember your friend in prayer. I hope the passing was not too difficult.

I need prayer for my husband's grandfather, he was admitted this moring for internal bleeding. The bleeding is coming from his intenses and they are trying to find out where it is going. My FIL is with him and needless to say we are all upset and worried. He isn't a spring chicken and hasn't been well for quite for some time. Please pray for him to pull though and for his wife to have strength. TY.

My SIL is 8 weeks pregnant and last night she started bleeding. She went to the ER last night and everything is pointing to a possible miscarriage. :( This is really hard and upsetting because she been trying to get pregnant for over a year. We know the little baby is in God's hands and there is really nothing anyone can do but wait and pray. His/her heatbeat is down and we are praying that the baby pulls though. Please pray. :(

What an awful time it must be for your family SO. I'll remember you all in my prayers.

I started singing in my Catholic church's choir at the end of November. I'm a tenor, and there's not too many of us; there's far more basses. Anyway, I was at Mass today and talked with the choir director after the Mass--we weren't singing today, the contemporary ensemble was. Anyway, one of the basses had a massive stroke Friday morning. The choir director said a couple of things about this--One, the stroke was so massive that all he'll ever be is in a vegetative state; and two, the stroke was so massive that the surgeons, wherever he is, couldn't operate.
I'm not sure how old he is, but he's in his late 50s to early 60s. Wednesday night, our parish had Confirmation, and because of the choir numbers (two tenors and four basses), I sat next to him. Really nice guy. It actually was kinda difficult to sing at times, as he had this way of cracking jokes that would be well-timed. (Those members who sing know what I'm talking about.) He did have a fainting spell last year, during choir practice (before I joined).
I really don't know what to pray for here--a miracle, and Dick (his name) regains his health, or that Dick's stay on the Earth end soon, and he go to his Eternal Father, where I'm sure that a bass singing position is waiting for him. (The tenors there might not get his jokes, however.) But, I'm asking for prayers for him.

Dick joined the Heavenly choir yesterday at around noon. I expect to hear him singing, in my mind, at his funeral next week. Singing at his funeral is the least I can do for him and his family.

As most of you all know, my boyfriend's dad is in the midst of a cancer battle. He was diagnosed with colon cancer back in October.
It's been a struggle. His wife left him. His body rejected the chemo.
Well, the last month or so, things were really looking good. On Monday we got some bad news. They had found some polyps in his colon and we were just praying they were nothing serious. Today they removed them, and I haven't heard what the result was.
But also, his blood work has shown there's something going on with his kidneys.
Please keep him in your prayers. He's the last of my boyfriend's family that's left and he was doing so well. After the check up last week, he was supposed to only have to go in every 3-4 months, but now it's just all so up in the air.

Just received a phone call from my pop. It looks like my nephew, who is 2 1/2, may have to go in for surgery today for some nerve damage.
They are doing an ultrasound right now and if they determine that there is damage, the surgery will be done immediately.
If you wouldn't mind praying for this little guy. It seems so wrong to be operating on a 2-year-old.
Thank you!

I got a little something in my eye.
Sorry to hear about this...nothing bothers me more then knowing about children with health issues....I will be sure to pray for him, his family and medical care. I know a great physician and he practices from above and hears our prayers. God Bless this little boy.

How about everyone saying a little prayer for the souls of the dead and the survivors in Myanmar. There are a lot of hurting souls in the world today. Maybe our prayers can bring comfort to some of them.

Chaplain (LTC) Larry Blum.
Brigade Chaplain...3rd Bde. 1st Armored Division Baghdad Iraq 2003-04.
Ch. Blum had to return early from his second tour in Iraq and was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
They were able to operate but only got part of the tumor. He's had to go through some grueling Chemo to try and get the rest of it.
He just within the last couple weeks was taken out of ICU.
I never missed an opportunity to be his driver or gunner on his vehicle. Joked with him that I did it to increase my chances of staying alive LOL!.
He was the source of comfort to so many of us in the Brigade when we'd lose a fellow soldier. I hope the Lord and those of us that were part of his "flock" can give him the same kind of comfort and strength.

The daughter of a very close friend was 2-3 months pregnant with twins. Early this week her doctor could find only one heartbeat. Now there are none. She is absolutely devastated. Prayers for her, her husband, and their families would be appreciated.

I normally am not the type to ask for prayers for myself, but I could use some right now, as I'm having an operation on Thursday. Really don't want to talk about it any more than that, as my stress levels are through the roof right now. :(

Good luck. :(

I have a triple request right now:
1. My aunt Freida: She found out last Friday she has a grapefruit sized tumor on one of her kidneys. The good news is they don't think it spread, but she'll find out more tomorrow. Please pray for her.
2. Also last week, my aunt Freida's mother-in-law died. Mrs. Brasseaux was a very lovely lady. My aunt's family is suffering not only from the death, but also the news of Freida's ill health. Please keep them in your prayers.
3. I learned today that my Grandpa has prostate cancer. It's slow growth, so the doctor says this won't kill him. Please pray for him as well.
Thank you.

I'll send my prayers to your relatives Miss Mia.

I'll send my prayers to your relatives Miss Mia.
Thank you. It's tough on the family right now. My aunt's tumor is attached to her adrenal gland and shooting her blood pressure to stoke levels. They're doing more tests and her surgery should be next week once they're done with the tests.
I'm worried about my grandfather. His doctor tends to say "oh, well you've lived a good life, there's nothing we can do." He's very dismissive of my grandpa's complaints. A couple of years ago my grandpa was having his bi-yearly physical and complained of chest pains and congestions. The doctor said it was just the flu. :whatever: He had a triple bypass within the month, and almost died.
I'm taking off work next Thursday (and I have Friday off already) and I'm headed down there for the weekend to see what's going on.

I talked to my best friend last night about it. She's a doctor but doesn't know anything about prostate cancer. She said "I don't see that in my patients." I said "damn you and your being a pediatrician!" LOL
I did some checking around on Web MD and it does appear that a watchful waiting is the best thing to do in men over 70. The side effects of chemo/radiation/surgery would be more harmful at this stage in his life. Also, it said that prostate cancer grows very slowly. He has a physical every 6 months, so I assume they caught this pretty early on.
Oh and his lady friend would have made sure he got a second opinion as well. His doctor is very dismissive. He was the same way when my grandmother was sick for so many years. And my aunt's mother used to go to him as well, (she's passed on) but he treated her the same way about her problems.
I'll be down there next weekend and see what my grandpa has to say about things.

When I talked with one of my aunts yesterday, getting my daily update, she thinks that the aunt with cancer will probably still be in the hospital in Houston next weekend. But she was like "Grandpa will be so excited that you're coming down."
My two aunts there (the one I talk to almost daily and the one with cancer) are like hawks over my grandpa. They go to lunch all together every Friday and usually go to all his doctor appointments with him so they'll know what's what. I think this last go around, I believe his lady friend, Abigail, went with him.
When he had his triple bypass a couple of years ago, it was very shocking. I mean in the back of my head, I know he's old (88 now) and I mean I know he's not immortal. It's just going to be very rough when he passes. I love that old man. He's a great man, and they just aren't made like he is any more.

I understand completely, Mia. If my grands had lived, they would all be around the same age now. I lost my last 2 in 2003 at the age of 81(for both of them). Never easy and I think of them all often. I don't know if our older folks understand how valuable they are to us. I'm sure you grandpa will know it when you come to see him. :-*

A prayer request for a dear friend, her daughter and her grandbaby.. Hope
Ruth is the Executive Director of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Network, I am the pres of our local affiliate. I have known her on-line since 1999. I can't tell the story any better than she did so I will share her message.
My dear friends,
I'm writing to share with you the miracle of the birth of Hope Isabella, born yesterday at 12:46 pm at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington DC. Little Hope arrived at 25 weeks gestation and weighs 1 pound 9 ounces.
Little Hope is truly 'Naomi's Hope,' (www.hope4acure.net). As so many of you are aware, my daughter Naomi is a 2 time cancer survivor. Diagnosed initially in 1987 with acute myelogenous leukemia, she was one of the first children to survive a bone marrow transplant. Treated with intensive chemotherapy, as well as total body radiation, Naomi had been told that she would be sterile.
Thirteen weeks ago, Naomi learned that she was 12 weeks pregnant. She had actually thought that she had cancer again and had booked a radioactive scan to see if her second cancer had returned. Routinely, she was required to take a pregnancy test, and low and behold, she was already past her first trimester.
It was quickly determined that this was going to be a very complicated and high risk pregnancy as a result of secondary late effects from the cancer treatments that Naomi received as a little girl. This turned out to be the case. It was determined that she had a very shortened cervix as a result of the radiation she received when 7 years of age. She had a cerclage placed at 16 weeks gestation. Her already high blood pressure continued to climb so she was put on beta blockers and calcium blockers. She required monthly echocardiograms due to cardiomyopathy from her previous chemo. She required weekly blood draws to check thyroid levels due to her second cancer (papillary thyroid carcinoma), and bi-weekly ultrasounds. At 23 weeks gestation she was hospitalized as she had completely effaced. Last Monday, at 24 weeks, her water broke, and yesterday at 25 weeks gestation, little Hope arrived. It is believed that she came early due to uterine vascular insufficiency, as well as a uterine infection from the cerclage.
The neonatologists who are caring for little Hope say that she's a feisty little one. She does have an infection in her lungs, is on a trach, and is being fed through her umbilical cord. That said, she's beautiful! She has a full head of black hair (like her mother Naomi had when she was born), and immediately after being born opened her eyes and was looking all around. Her little feet are the same length as Naomi's thumb print.
As each of you know only too well, this little one is a gift that Naomi never dreamed would happen in her life. But like Naomi, she's too is having to fight for her life as a result of the late effects of cancer treatments from Naomi's life as a little girl. Once again, this little life emphasized the need for continued research towards less toxic therapies to treat our nation’s littlest cancer patients.
... where there is life, there is hope...
Ruth

Wow, Terry, what a story! Little Hope and her mama are in my prayers!
(and as an aside, any lions lately?, I think about you guys a lot!)

Terry, I'll be sure to keep them in my prayers.

I have an update on my family.
My grandpa is very much okay with his possibly having prostate cancer. On the 10th he goes into have his biopsy. He's got a few options on treatments, and it currently deciding on which course of action to take. As he said "I've lived a good long life," so he's at peace if it's cancer.
My aunt, they postponed her tests in Houston. They are going to do some more testing this week. They haven't done a biopsy, because if they did the kidney cancer then spreads like a wild fire. It's been upgraded from grapefruit to pineapple sized tumor on her kidney. She's also handling everything very well. Her doctor told her he's never seen a tumor this size not be cancer and she said "well, I can always be the first." Oh, and she said she hopes it weight at least 5 lbs, because that's what she's been trying to lose lately. LOL
Please, everyone please keep them both in your thoughts.

Update on my aunt.
So far with all the testing, it appears that her cancer has not spread past her kidney and adrenal gland. Surgery is scheduled for August 8th, and she's expected to be in ICU for a week, with recovery lasting 6-8 weeks, as long as there aren't any complications.
Please, keep her in your prayers. Her tumor is "pineapple" sized.

I would like to ask you all to keep my brother in your prayers. This is the one who has been diabetic since he was little and fought his way through a bad car accident a few years back on dialysis, but able to walk again. He had a mild heart attack last night. He's 32 years old. Unfortunately, because of his other health conditions, I think this is a just another sign of the inevitable that is coming probably in the next few years. :bawl:
I feel really helpless and can't make the trip to Florida right now to see him. :banghead: :bawl:
Please pray for him. Next to my children, my brothers mean the world to me. This really hurts to keep seeing his health decline.
Mia, I'll continue to keep your aunt in my prayers. I hope she makes a full recovery and will hear the words 'cancer free' someday.

Surprisingly the media have left them alone. After his father's resignation as our county Sheriff, I would have expected the newspaper to shred the family again. I have only a few details, but I will find out more tonight at the visitation.

The young man apparently suffered a massive heart attack as a result of his suicide attempt. He was revived, but it was too late...there is no brain activity. They are going to discontinue life support and let him go. It should be only a day or so.
That's two young sons of close friends inside 2 months.
The road to recovery for these families is going to be very long.

It does put things in perspective. A neighbor up the street died a week ago from cancer. She had beat it once but it recently came back. She always worked in her yard and now we will no longer see her there. Her husband is retired military and the nicest man ever. :(

Found out last night that my brother and SIL were in a bad auto accident. Car is totaled, air bags deployed and did their job, but they're both pretty sore/shaken up. This was their only vehicle. The other guy was at fault and the insurance company has offered very little $$$. Their car wasn't worth much (resale value) anyway, but it got them to work and back safely and was paid for.

Wow, not good. I'm glad they weren't hurt! I pray that this will all work out for them, insurance companies are the original Scrooge.

My friend, is attending the funeral for his grandfather today. His grandfather and other family members were hit last weekend by someone going around 100 mph. The two women in the vehicle were thrown from it, his grandfather died while in it and the other man was also killed. The man that hit them is still alive and in the hospital.
Please extend your prayers for my friend and his family.

Prayers for him being said...does he have other family?
He has a few relatives left, but from what I've heard, the whole family is a mess. He's pretty much the one holding them together, and supporting at least half of them.
-
I'm sorry to hear this lug! I will have him in my prayers.
I'd like to put out a whopper in my estranged other half's family as well.
Mother has Alzheimer's that is worsening, the stepfather/uncle has lung and brain cancer(that is responding to treatment, but it will only extend his life by a few months), and the estranged other half's brother had a minor heart attack and upon further inspection is found to need a triple bypass. That family could use all the prayers you could extend to them. Have a feeling the next year is going to be rough.

Follow-up. He came into the office for a little while today. He was in reasonably good spirits considering......the docs have given him 14-24 months. The rest of us have decided that we will settle for nothing less than another 20 years, so that's what we're all praying for.

I've got one. My choir's oldest member, a 92-year-old bass who is retired from the NYPD and moved up here many years ago, has pancreatic cancer. One of the sopranos who has been his driver and minder told us yesterday. I saw Adam at a practice about a month ago, and he looked tired and yellowish-tinged. Yes, he's had a long life, but I'd still love to have him around for next fall. A great guy. Our choir director used to be the target of a lot of Adam's funny sarcastic remarks, and the choir director said something to the effect of, "Usually, it's the young ones you have to watch out for!" Adam told me once that he wanted the Battle Hymn of the Republic sung at his funeral. We've already got to do it this coming Sunday (for Memorial Day). I don't really want to have to do it for a(nother) funeral--at least not yet.
-
Prayers sent.....unfortunately, pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis, even in the short term.

Prayers up for my buddy please. She is having a total hysterectomy, on Monday. Has about 10 cysts in there, ranging from golf ball to grapefruit size. In addition they will be having a pathologist on hand to determine if a tumor on her kidney is cancer. There is a good chance they will remove that kidney, as the tumor is on the top of it, by all the arteries and veins and stuff. All of her other tumors will be pathologized at that time too. There is concern that the grapefruit one isn't attached to her ovary, but her bowel. They can't tell any more without opening her up. I think that one has it's own blood supply.
She is doing a barium swallow test to determine if she has cancer in the esophagus today. Tomorrow they biopsy the FIVE 1-2 inch nodules on her thyroid. They won't be removing the thyroid with the surgery on Monday, but they want to know what they are looking at before they remove the other bits.
So......yeah. She needs some prayers. 43 y/o BTW.
Thanks in advance.

Gang, I'm going to hit ten months clean and sober on Thursday. I was told by several people in AA (and the music director at my church) that now is the time when feelings that I suppressed with alcohol will come bubbling to the surface. Three weeks ago, for example, I was convinced that I would lose my wife in a car wreck on I-90 as she came home from seeing a cousin of hers. I even knew exactly where it would occur, and how. Let's just say that I'm very glad that it didn't happen that day, but the feeling still persists (that I'm going to lose her soon). I know that this is my alcoholism, or Satan (acting through my alcoholism), beckoning me to come back and drink to quiet the thoughts. I would lose so much if I did that. I think that the only way I would consider taking a drink would be if my wife died. So, what I'm asking for prayers for (damned onions again!), is to be able to be rid of the thoughts, if it is God's Will.

Sending prayers to you and for you, BSS.
Part of the what's happening, is that you are getting you straightened out, and you're waiting for the next shoe to drop so to speak. Things are getting better...so that means something must happen to either screw it up or you will do something to screw it up.
Because that's the way it's been for years, so in a little corner of your mind, there's still a part that thinks that's what's going to happen. But it won't....not this time. Because you have changed!
Your faith in God and your dedication to sobriety has gotten you to your 10 month anniversary. Those two things will get you to your 10 year anniversary, too.
Remember, if God brings you to it...He will get you through it.

Just remember that Satan is us. This is the side of mankind that was given to us as freewill, and it is up to us to control it. God is there as a reminder that WE do not have to fall victim to our own devils.
Keep up the good work bud, and be strong. :hi5:

My very dear buddy, a former combat engineer in the US Army has left the Army after three tours. Tomorrow he takes his written exam for the US Border Patrol. He has dyslexia, but is one of the smartest people I know, and exactly the kind of person we want protecting our borders. I am not going to go into detail, but I owe this man my life, for real, and only hope that he can achieve his goals. Prayers Up for Ricky.

Thank you. I have several friends who are dyslexic. They are always the smartest and most mature, regardless of age. But maybe I have a whole mess of immature friends? :)

Please pray for my dear friend Etta. She has been my Mom's life partner for 20 years. This last year she had breast cancer, got a double mastectomy, and we thought everything was ok. She was just diagnosed with cancer of the spine, and liver. If she chose not to do chemo, the prognosis was 5-8 months. She is going to do chemo. Although I know that some of you have issues with gay people, I can say that I am so grateful to have Etta in my life, and fortunate to see my Mom happy. She is a retired minister, and a spectacular woman. My heart hurts to even have to post this, I would appreciate any prayers offered for her health, and barring that, her peace, and that of my Mother's as well.
-
Our prayers go up for both your friend Etta to heal and for your mom to cope and have wisdom and peace Iassa. :)

Prayers up, Tots.

Sending lots of prayers, Deb, I know how much Etta means to you. <<<<hugs>>>>
I'm glad to hear that she opted for the chemo. Remember me telling you that my kids' step-mother's has come back in her spine and liver too, at Thanksgiving? She has been doing chemo also. Outside of a bad time at Christmas, that seems to have been primarily from the liver biopsy (which my son-in-law said is quite common), she has been doing much better. They went to Hawaii a couple of weeks ago, so she must not be having much difficulty from the new chemo. My daughter told me that prior to going to Hawaii, J's "levels" were much improved. They apparently have some new chemo drugs that kick ass!! This is a good omen for Etta too.

Deb, thank you for that. I haven't had to deal with cancer in my family since 98, and then things were much different. It is so challenging for me to remain hopeful, when my own point of reference isn't really that at all. This post helps me justify having hope. And I really needed that.

Just said a Prayer for her now, and don't ever feel the need to explain gay relationships, most people don't care about that at all, if they're happy and they care about each other? that's all that matters.
-
Please pray for my dear friend Etta.
Issa, we don't have issues with gay people. It's only those who think they deserve more rights than the rest of us we take issue with. What happens in life between two people is exactly that! Between two people.
I pray the chemo works for your mom's life long friend!

Thanks AR and BG. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

A very dear friend of mine, that comes here on occasion is in a bad way. Her husband has cancer, and is in hospice. I don't wish to divulge more than that, because she does post here, and I want to respect her privacy. She lost her sister to cancer just less than a year ago.
Prayers for a friend and a kindred Cave member would be most appreciated.
Cancer is such the sucking suck fest.
Please pray for peace and strength.
Thank you.

Thank you Deb.

Added her to my prayer list, which also includes our church organist. Mrs E has to sub for her today because of a bad reaction to an injection she got.
Cancer is the suck. I go in to have a basal cell spot above my eyebrow removed next week, as well. I'm grateful it isn't a melanoma.
-
Thank you Eupher. I will pray for you too.
Please continue your prayers, it is more needed than you know. My heart hurts so much for this phenomenal woman. I just don't know what to do, but to ask all my people around the world to pray.
-
I am saddened to say that my friend's husband lost his fight with cancer today. Thank you to everyone for your prayers. I know they gave her comfort.
-
Oh Deb...I am so very sorry.
Prayers for your friend and her family.
And for you too, my friend...I know that you and yours need them too.
<<<<hugs>>>>

Sincere condolences. Prayers continuing. God doesn't stop listening -- ever.

Gang, I'm going in a local Catholic hospital tomorrow, for a hernia repair. It's right over my left femoral artery, so I'm a bit nervous. My surgeon did tell me that he's never hit a femoral artery when repairing a hernia like this, and I told him of my desire not to be his first. :o I go under the knife at 2:40 PM tomorrow.
-
Prayers headed skyward, BSS. While I don't have a direct line to God, something tells me you're gonna be just fine. :-)
-
Consider it done.
-
Just saw this, and you should either still be in surgery or getting ready to head to recovery.
Sending prayers and hugs.
-
Just before I went under for the surgery, the surgeon said to me, "I think it's a swollen lymph node. I thought it was a hernia at first, but now that you're here, I think I might have gotten it wrong." It is a swollen lymph node. The words "cat scratch fever" were mentioned, and a biopsy was taken. That word (biopsy) bothers me, just because of the ramifications of it. Yeah, Oreo likes to bite (softly) from time to time, but I didn't think her biting my hand would cause a lymph node in my crotch area to swell up.
-
Any day a surgeon's scalpel stands down from the 'nad area is a good day.
-
Here's the continuation of the post above. The surgeon told my wife, alone, that it could be lymphoma. He also told me with my wife, but I have no recollection of this. He also said that it would be 5-7 days until they found out for sure. The next couple-three days are not going to be fun. Thing is, the follow-up appointment is scheduled for a week from this coming Wednesday. I have no idea what this combination of circumstances means.
-
Jeezus, BSS. I can't imagine what you're going through right now.
Fervent prayers heading upstairs most ricky-tick.
-
Sending prayers and hugs, BSS.
Maybe since he said it would take so long, he's not overly concerned but told you the worst possible scenario to cover his tush?
Seems like if he was real worried, he would have immediately scheduled more tests.

Excellent points. But since it takes 5-7 days for confirmation anyway, why schedule more testing until they know for sure?

Wishful thinking?
Don't know, but the times that I've had a bad mammogram, I left the radiologist's office with an appointment with the surgeon. When a friend's breast cancer was discovered, (she got her mammograms at Thompson Cancer Center) they did a needle biopsy on her before she even left the office from having her mammogram. I switched to TCC because it's a "one-stop" place, everything except the surgery itself is done there. The surgery is done at the hospital across the street.

I would like to request prayer for me, as well as my boyfriend.
As I've mentioned before, I have been laid off twice since January 2009. I am currently working as a waitress at the local Waffle House. This allows me to have gas money an grocery money, as well as some bill money; but it is not enough (I'm making about 10.00/hour less than my last job). I have just created a Linkedin account in the hopes that it may catch someone's eye. Keep my job search in your prayers, please.
Also, my boyfriend is a plumber. Business has picked up some in the last 6 months; but he has done something to his back. He has not been able to work in a month, and he has no insurance. I am worried to death about him. He has had back problems off and on for years; but nothing this bad and this prolonged. He's been to the ER twice and a doctor once; but no one wants to give him an X-Ray or MRI. Please pray that he gets some relief from his pain.
I fully believe that God puts us through trials for a reason; and I am leaning heavily on that belief right now. I know He has a purpose; and that purpose may never be revealed to me, but it's getting harder and harder to keep my spirits up.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.

I've mentioned this before, but when I was going through a really horrible time, several years ago, I opened up an email that was one of those "chain letter" things which I never respond to, but for some reason I scrolled all the way to the very bottom of the page - past the sender's name and info.
Underneath the sender's info was a line in italics....
If God brings you to it, He will get you through it.
I have no idea why I scrolled through that email on that particular day, but I am so grateful that I did.
Have faith...
in the meantime, I will send prayers for you and yours.

Midterms this week. Pray for wisdom.

I'd like prayers for Monte Rice (uncle by marriage). As some of you may remember, Monte has been fighting Prostrate cancer for a few years. It came back earlier this year and after trying different treatments, it's not showing any signs of remission, and is spreading.
I don't think he has long, but the family isn't talking about it.
This is more for his spirit, family and friends.
Thanks.
-
Done. All my prayers for your Uncle's remission and your family at this difficult time.
And for all you men to go get your PSA tests scheduled today.

The mother of a childhood friend was taken to the hospital today. When her family found her, she wasn't breathing.
I don't have any new information. She's in the ICU at the hospital down the street.

So sorry, Chris.

I got one, my Sister's dad, my ex-step dad has a wonderful job opportunity to get him out of a bad situation financially.

My friend Josh is in the hospital. He's only in his early 20s but he has an enlarged heart and needs a transplant. He's been in the hospital for about 18-20 hours now. We're all kind of bummed out at the college right now.

Whoa, prayers upstairs, CC. To be twenty-something and have ticker trouble is definitely something to put in God's loving hands.

Prayers for Josh. And for you and his other friends.

I thank you guys.

Just an update, Josh may have been bitten by a bug while on a missions trip to Honduras that is causing all this. He's on morphine now and watching a game on TV.

My Grandpa Ron is in the hospital. They think he has a bacteria infection and is causing him to lose a lot of weight very rapidly. He's a tough old guy, but he needs help.

I'm going to Boston! My church is planting a church, and I volunteered to go. So be in prayer for traveling mercies, finances for everyone who is going, finances for the church, and the ministry in Boston.
Also if you're looking for a church in Boston or know of someone who is looking for one let me know.

I have a request. Please pray for Monte Rice and his family. He has lost his battle with cancer and is in his last day(s)
His daughter Leanna is having a VERY hard time with this, she was his "little girl".
His wife Lisa is holding up OK, but she's also having a hard time seeing him in his final hours.
Not sure about his son, Andrew, he's being "stoic".
Monte is a great guy, loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, etc...
Monte, you put up a good fight. Godspeed my friend.

This is a cross post I posted in the Crying In My Beer forum.
Emily's husband Dan had a stroke last night around 9:30. He has a large bleed in his brain stem. He is in ICU and non responsive. He has also had several seizures since the stroke. Both the neurosurgeon and pulmonologist feel he won't recover. The situation is very dire and they could use all the prayers they can get. They were supposed to leave for Las Vegas today. :(
She sent me a text at around 1:30 am and I happened to be awake, thank God for insomnia. So everyone please pray and those of you who can help, in what ever way no matter how small, please do so.
-
Prayers up for Em and Dan.
-
Oh, Lord. Place your healing hands on Dan and Emily at this hour. Bring him back to his family where he can serve you by serving them.
-
Been there! Pray yours are answered like mine were.

If anyone pops in I need you to put my cousin's daughter on your prayer list. She had to have her gallbladder removed Friday and they found an ovarian cyst, cysts in both breasts, and four cysts in her liver.

I'm going to throw this out there because I know this is an anonymous board, but I truly believe in prayer and I believe the more people praying the better. My wife and I would've celebrated our 33rd anniversary on June 25th this year except she left on April 7th. She has her own apt. near our daughter and son-in-law (and brand new grandson :) ) with a lease until 5/1/17. In all honesty I'm an alcoholic and have been struggling with that a lot the past 10 yrs. Longest period of sobriety is 2 1/2 yrs. I'm not a violent drunk by any means and never laid a hand on her, or anybody for that matter. As in any marriage there are other issues besides just my drinking. Let's just say our libidos are miles apart. I really counted on living the rest of my life with this woman and maybe even doing some traveling together once we retired. Nothing is permanent at this point and I'd just like people to pray that God works in both our lives. I've been sober ever since she left it's actually pretty easy without dealing with feelings of rejection every night. I'm sorry to rattle on folks, I feel like I should be posting on DU, I sound so pitiful, but I didn't want people to send me picture of their hands :-) I wanted real Christians to pray to the one and only Lord Jesus to bless my marriage.
