Is Lieberman going to run with McCain?
« on: February 05, 2008, 10:40:46 PM »
Ive seen Lieberman at a few stops on McCain's campaign.. and there he is again tonight up on stage with McCain during his speech. In fact, he's standing right by McCain's mother with his hand on her shoulder.

I'm wondering if Lieberman is going to be his running mate?

i was wondering about lieberman the other day...great theory! If he does, this election season just a whole lot more interesting.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Talk about a moderate ticket...  a watered down Republican running with a watered down Democrat.  I don't think I'd hesitate a second to vote for that.

Oh it would suck no doubt. I think Lieberman is alright. But I could only handle him as VP to a strict conservative. Obviously not McCain.

Not at all.  I'm tired of partisan politics, and I would truly love to see both sides come together in an instance like this.

Liebermann is pretty much a total New England Leftie Dem on everything but MidEast foreign policy, the ONE area he has anything in common with the GOP.  I suppose that makes him a close match for McCain, but hardly something that's going to be getting me to the polls in spite of my distaste for McCrazy.

McCain/Lieberman? I would no more vote for that ticket than I would a Clinton/Obama ticket. Both would to serious damage to this country.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

At least Lieberman isn't a fraud.

Lieberman is NOT a conservative Democrat.....he is a hawk on foreign policy primarily due to being Jewish, and a staunch supporter of Israel.....if you look at his voting record outside of foreign policy issues, he is close to Hillary....

just notice how often he shows up with McCain .. onstage.

i'm not sure why a liberal is travelling with McCain especially when the GOP base is so pissed off right now about McCain being too liberal.

It is just more of McCain's "spitting in the eye" to conservatives......he prefers to surround himself with politicians that share his baser views, and appeal to the media.  He is an old, egotistical, arrogant asshole that will wreck the Republican party for the foreseeable future.....and he doesn't care.

And don't forget with his "gang of 14" trick, whatever he says, I don't think that he will appoint SC Justices that are any more "constructionist" than Justice Kennedy......

I've decided I'm still voting for Romney... he is not out yet, although its confusing right now where he actually is.

Romney needs to get 80% of the next states' delegates... maybe we could help with that.
