The implication that ALL the presence of American troops provides for a host nation is a bump in violent crime rates?  Bastard needs to play human shield to a pop-up target.

In a way, he's not totally wrong--crime rates may in fact go up immediately outside the base (read: Waukegan, IL, National City, CA, Phenix City, AL, Yokosuka, Japan, etc...) but did he in fact conisder that the military folks are far, far more often the VICTIMS of said crimes versus the perpetrators?  I don't know how many times I was accosted in Agana, or knew guys who got rolled on 22nd street outside the NTC Great Lakes gate.  So really, WE'RE the rapists and thugs?  Care to put down that broad brush, Billyboy?

The fact that he DIDN'T consider this makes him an ass-clown of the first magnitude.

I remember hearing the warnings about going off base alone after boot camp while at school at Great Mistakes.
