Dude goes off on McDonald's because of Fox news being on. Read please.  I think you'll get a laugh. And I have to say that superduperfarleft nails it.

I went to McDonald's to eat their garbage today. I hit the ceiling when I saw that they had a TV...
that was new and was tuned to Faux News. I totally lost my cool and used bad language such as "It's a ****ing conspiracy! Every place I go to lunch has that ****ing propaganda channel on!"

I'm surprised they didn't call the police. But it worked. They changed it to MSNBC.

I'm going to part with the typical bouncy critique and say I actually believe this jackass acted like a jackass.

However... he is soon called out for his jackassery.

8. totally not the point...
the point is the OP was an offensive ass in a family restaurant...if my kids had been in earshot the police would have been called.

20. offensive ass is a descriptive of the behaviour displayed...
sorry...but there really is no other way to phrase it...served no point other than to make a scene and probably just pissed off everyone within earshot.

sorry they didn't behave to your liking. Just like the food police, restaurant police, smoking police, food stamps police, you've now become the behavior cop of DU.

165. He's not talking about Republicans.
He's talking about the underpaid, over-worked wage slaves in a McDonalds and the random customers who are unfortunate enough to be standing in line to get their Big Macs when some Super Awesome Fantastic Activist loses his shit.

This is no time for cowards who would rather stand down that stand up for our beliefs.

I've seen some astounding cowardice displayed here today all because a guy got sick and tired of seeing fox news everywhere he went and decided to make a scene about it. It's an acceptable form of protest.

I salute you, El Supremo. At least you are not afraid to fight back. Thank you.

7. The irony of a tirade against Fox in a McDonald's.
 (facepalm)

I beg to differ. It was not a tirade; as a tirade is at least marginally coherent.

What el supremo had was a tantrum.

17. This didn't accomplish anything...it only made the person look like a psycho
if I was sitting in a McDonald's ( which is rare ) and Fox news was on I wouldn't let it interfere with my meal...would you? Ridiculous...absolutely ridiculous...

Even more ridiculous to throw a tantrum like that in front of others who were not in the least bit interested in what was on the TV...and all they wanted was a Big Mac...IN PEACE, but apparently THAT is too ****ing much to ask for these days, isn't it? ISN'T IT?!!

Really...think about this why don't you? and think about how counterproductive this persons reaction was at a fast-food restaurant and what it made them look like to others...what was the supposed message to be sent there, hmmm?

I BELIEVE IN THE PRINCIPLE, BUT THE METHOD STINKS

Actually, I've seen a few and yes, they have been tuned to FOX.

Of course the volume has been turned down so all it does is serve as a moving picture.

At least the FOX news-babes are--well--babes.

I've seen TVs in the McDonald's around Montreal, but they are tuned to CNN. They weren't allowing Fox News on the Quebec cable systems at that time, maybe not still, and maybe not Canada wide.

The one cool thing about McD's in Quebec was, they use freshly chopped onions instead of the dried reconstituted ones.

Really what others have on their TVs is a non-issue for me. Unless it is just blatantly disgusting, then who am I to say anything? What if the majority of those there wanted Fox on? I guess I can just ignore it better than others. And no, I don't watch Fox news. I don't watch MSNBC either. I probably wouldn't have even noticed the tv myself. BUT if I did have a huge problem with what was on, there is this thing called tact, and that is how you deal with things in a proper manner.

If, and that's a big if, true then the DUchebag pushed a bunch of independents to the republican camp.

And my entry into the thread was pointing out that we seem to have a surge lately of what I call the "Look what a hero I am....." threads. "I flipped out in the McDonald's/Checkout Line/Department store..... and boy did I show them! They didn't dare stand up to me!"

The last week or so seems to have produced a bunch of these. I wondered whether we had started a contest or something. This one does have a whole lot of anger in it, though.

They're called "bouncys."  Feel free to use the term on the island.

The McDonalds around here in the Omaha Area have TV's and all of them I have seen have Fox News on them but little or no sound. They sometimes have a smaller TV with kids programing on it, I wonder if the kids in that McDonalds thought crazy boy was talking about their TV's? And another thing I want to mention. With all the high profile shootings in fast food resturants the last thing I would want to do is start screaming and becoming the center of someones attention ,might lead to some kind of injury.

Yeah.. and I've gone into Dunkin Donuts and CNN was on their television.  I didn't start freaking out and throwing a fit about it.  I just didn't look at that television, ordered my caramel iced latte and went on my merry way.

Next time get food at Dunkin Donuts.  I've seen Fox News on so many televisions.  It actually surprised me to see CNN on for once.  lol

Never once have I felt the need to have the channel changed on a public TV. However, all true lefties see Fox news displayed in a public place as a direct threat that must be silenced. Why is that?

Now all this time I thought we were the fascists.
