The Republicans' Secret Wish

Trump supporters would like nothing more than for him to fire Robert Mueller. They do not hesitate to tell their Reps and Senators when they come home.

Republican leadership has said over and over that there is no need to protect the Special Counsel because Trump has no plan on firing Bob Mueller. They never say what they would do if Mueller was to be fired?

But, if it were to happen, the odds are that the Republican leaders would do nothing. In their hearts, they hope that Mueller is fired. They can then join their base in unity for the next election. Democrats will be left to scream to their heart's content.

However, if Republicans were to take that route and join Trump in the dismissal of Mueller, the November election would loom ever more important.

Democrats, if they take back the House in November, would have no choice but to impeach. The Republican cover up of perhaps the most important investigation in our history would leave them no choice.

And maybe that is exactly what the Republicans want?

Ummmmmm ... if R voters "do not hesitate to tell their Reps and Senators" they want Mueller canned, how is that a "Secret Wish"? Is kt ignorant of the meaning of "Secret"?

Personally I want:

* Mueller's witch-hunt shut down;

* Mueller canned, given an hour to clean out his desk, and frogm ... errr, escorted from whatever Federal building he infests;

* Mueller investigated and, if appropriate, prosecuted.

I want him to have to testify daily on the Hill about his obvious and blatant conflicts of interest in this investigation, which are in violation of federal law, and have to defend the same.  I want that to continue, daily, in front of a different committee, until such time that his credibility, and therefore his effectiveness, erodes to zero, or his pride says "**** this, I'm out" and he resigns.
