*smurky little smart a$$es* instead of Earth Hour tonight RW offers "Human Achievement Hour"

Let there be light: 'Human Achievement Hour' to coincide with Earth Hour

As millions of people sit in the dark during Earth Hour to call for action against climate change this weekend, a libertarian think tank wants you to fight the power by keeping the lights on.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute plans to commemorate Earth Hour 2012 with its "Human Achievement Hour," 60 minutes to gather with friends in a heated home, watch television and surf the Internet instead of dimming or shutting off the lights altogether to draw attention to climate change.

"HAH is an annual event meant to recognize and celebrate the fact that this is the greatest time to be alive, and that the reason we have come is that people have been free to use their minds and the resources in their environment to experiment, create, and innovate," reads a CEI website on the event scheduled to coincide with Earth Hour 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time Saturday.

Participants in the event understand the "necessity to protect the individual persons from government coercion," according to the Washington-based think tank.

I like that. I may start calling the guys here "smurky little smart asses" instead of "pricks" (which, by the way, was how we were characterized by our favorite chromosomal accident, Pam Dawson).

For example: Which one of you smurky little smart asses is really Lucinda?

I'm not sure what "smurky" is, but it sounds pretty disreputable.

Thank you, DUmmy underpants!

Conspicuous by their absence.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Turning off both light bulbs?

They've been burning for over 60+ years...goes to show you that they just don't make things like they used to.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Coercion?

The person that thought of earth hour is the ultimate mole.  We've all thought that DUmmies would do the planet a favor if they would just shut up, turn off their computers and go away.  Now, for at least an hour every year, they agree with us.

Last weekend, I was helping to lead the kids in my church's youth group in a retreat.
When "Earth Hour" occurred this year (I wasn't aware of when it would be, and didn't care), I think I was at the time with a group of the kids playing Manhunt (Basically like hide and seek in the dark across the retreat camp's wide grounds), with the dorms' lights all on for the kids who didn't want to participate, then after that we came inside, hooked up a DVD player, and watched 'The Passion of the Christ.'

My biggest "Screw you, Earth Hour" action happened I believe two years ago when they did it. That day, I went to see my best friend (Who lived a good two hour drive from my place), and we drove to a Toby Mac/ Skillet concert. That "Earth Hour," while the DUmmies and other self- righteous hippies were turning off everything modern/ electric and wallowing in their own smugness, my friend and I were in a huge outdoor ampitheater with awesome light and sound systems on full blast (Which must have burned through God knows how much electricity), rocking out to Skillet and having the time of our lives!

I hear North Korea is participating.

Whether they want to or not!

I don't know why they don't do this in the summer time. Hell, they could get Kaliforicators to participate the same way N. Korea does!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

I may turn on the air conditioner and open all the doors for an hour, so that Mother Gaia may partake of the wonder that is artificially chilled air.

The dehumidifier always wins.
