There is a racial element to those who go out of their way to denigrate rap music.

It's legitimate to question the promiscuous use of the Nword or the Bword and some high proflle rappers have stated they will stop using them. However, that's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to the wholesale denigrating of the entire genre as "crap".

There are many genres of music I'm not a fan of but I would never criticize the talent of the artist unless it's Ted Nugent or Kid Rock.

ON EDIT-It's not just disliking it. It's making an ostentatious display of your dislike for it.

Who stuck a quarter in this primitive?  Hard telling what--if anything--prompted this stupid post.  It doesn't seem to be associated with some famous rapper being disparaged in the pop culture press, otherwise the primitive probably would've mentioned it unless they figured it was common knowledge but I don't think that is the case.  It's not a bouncy with some toothless white dude in a MAGA hat telling some diverse group of youths to turn down their blaring boombox.

I think it's just the primitive making an ostentatious virtue signaling display of their own love for BIPOC music or some such.

Some of the other primitives push back on the stupidity of the post, probably because since they are a bunch of old leftists they prefer the music of Pete Seeger or Peter, Paul, and Mary to rap--which, it turns out, the OP has no problem with as long as they don't make an ostentatious display of their preference.

21. WAP didn't do it for me.

WAP didn't do it for me but outside of this thread I'm not going to loudly proclaim my dislike for it. I know the song made Ben Shapiro all aflutter. I won't go further in this thread but it shows an amazing unawareness of physiology.
I may have discovered the impetus for the OP.  Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro may have said something about rap music on twitter.

It is. It also denigrates and objectifies women, so the DUmmie supports violence against women.

So it's racist to have good taste when it comes to liking or disliking genres of music? There is some rap songs I do like. If you listen to Weird Al Yankovic he is one hell of a rapper.  :mental:  ::) Not liking rap makes me racist against blacks? ::) Does not liking country mean I'm racist against whites? ::) Does not liking disco mean I'm ... what? ::)  :mental:

I guess good little Proggies check the skin color of musicians before they decide they can like them. It never bothered me that Duke Ellington and George Benson were/are black or that Glen Miller and Chuck Mangione were/are white.

Rap music perpetuates a culture of hatred, violence and envy of others.  That is enough reason to denigrate it.

My wife said it best 20 yrs ago.  "It's like somebody is just yelling at me"    BTW Law enforcement is really impressed with your videos with stacks of cash and your dumb ass Glock in your hand.  I bet they all laugh when they see you holding it sideways all "gangsta" like.  No wonder they shoot your asses.

I do not denigrate "rap music"... for the simple reason is it is not music.  Rap is poetry set to a beat. Whatever else instruments are involved in the poetry to a beat are extraneous. Some of it catchy... but it is not music.

Music is a painting on the canvas of time.  The great ones will always be great. The lesser songs and genres will fall by the wayside. Rap is not music and will never be considered as such once this generation dies off an will not be remembered at all.

So, then DUmpster dwellers, go give this a listen....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRgqyKcDDJ0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRgqyKcDDJ0)

and if you don't like it, you are racist.  Black men (actual Africans, not African Americans, even) making abrasive, brutal music.  Maybe the band is racist because they paint their faces white? (corpse paint, common in black metal)

Yup, wokeness whoring themselves to make sure everyone knows they aren't racist.  Wonder what would happen if you threw some Christian hip hop at them, the ones that tell black men to stop making babies with anything that moves and tell black women they are more than just baby ovens, and the ones that tell black people to stop blaming YT for all their problems and own up to the culture's role in the problems in the hood.

Good music is good music, regardless of the melanin content of the musician's skin.  There's good rap and bad rap, there was Thin Lizzy, Jimi Hendrix and Living Colour among others in the rock/metal world, I know there have been black country artists, I just don't know country music well enough to name any off the top of my head, along with the blues and gospel artists who flowed between genres as what we call country developed.  The true racists are the proggies who have to inject race into EVERYFREAKIN'THING they see, hear, touch taste and smell.

SPOILER ALERT: I have a lot of rap in my music collection.

I have a lot of things in my music collection - "Soley, Soley" "O' Fortuna" "Ain't Living Long Like This" "The Number of the Beast" and other great hits - and rap is part of that tapestry.

I actually enjoy looking for things to enjoy.

I may have discovered the impetus for the OP.  Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro may have said something about rap music on twitter.
That's a distinct possibility of what could likely have motivated the OP.
See, last year, the repulsive, crass and thoroughly talentless skank calling herself a rapper known as Cardi B. put out an obnoxious, mind- numbing excuse for a song called "WAP" (Short for "Wet @$$ P*$$y"). Its lyrics consist of nothing but brainless, gutter- mouthed obscenities that required no intelligence or creativity whatsoever to write, it constantly denigrates women as nothing but sex objects all the way through it (i.e. Its rhythm base consists of some jerkoff chanting "Wh*res in this house, there's some wh*res in this house" over and over again like a religious mantra throughout the song), and its music video is raunchier than some actual pornography.
Ben Shapiro publicly took issue with this disgusting song and openly criticized it, and the Left predictably responded by loudly dismissing him as an evil racist for it, and they then actually tried to hold this song and Cardi B. herself up as strong, empowered examples for women to follow (Conveniently ignoring the facts that Cardi B. has been closely affiliated with the Bloods gang since she was a teenager, and has bragged about previously working as a hooker and having a tendency to slip her clients roofies and then rob them while they're unconscious, as even people as morally bankrupt as the Left can have a hard time spinning someone who does things like that into being a positive role model for women).
So, I can easily see the OP being a response to that.

But that song has nothing except its "shocking" lyrics. The beat is rather disappointing.

One of the songs in my collection has a chorus that says, "A to the K to the 4 to the 7, little devils don't go to heaven" which basically means, "kill white with an AK-47, they're all damned, even they're children."

It's a horrific thought.

But, damn if the meter and rhyme of the overall song isn't busting out.

BTW - my daughter and her friends say WAP stands for "Worship And Prayer" 🤗
