This is as live as it gets. I'm on the blue line metro train making my way to Lafayette Park. Surrounded by moonbats with BDS trying to locate the fundie laughing at them!
-
DUmmie from Rhode island blaming Bush for her states deficit. Claiming Obama "understands the struggle we went through to get here". Now ages babbling about the joys of Polo as a spectator sport.
-
Mmmmmm...k. A state blames its financial woes not on the politicans in Sacramento, Concord, or Lincoln, but on Bush.
In the words of Dr. Evil, "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiggghhhht."
-
I would feel a lot better if the quivering, adoring mob was chanting ""USA" instead of "OH-BAH-MAH". as it is, it looks like a personality cult.
-
well, after hearing rick warren's inaugural invocation, I can completely understand the objections of the liberals. :whatever:
-
The neighbor just told me that some minutes ago, Nina Totenberg of National Public Radio pointed out that the Republicans in Washington, D.C. today are a "class act."
I didn't expect any less, but I'm surprised the old bag pointed that out.

I assume the wireless overload that was anticipated to occur in and around DC today has taken our "on the scene" correspondent off the air. :(

I am going with C-SPAN on this one. I don't want to hear about The MichelleStar!'s dress, or how cute sasha and malia are, or any of the other millions of useless and distracting observations that on-air personalities will be making today.
-
He's president. God save our Country.
-
did biden just totally mangle his oath of office, or what? :thatsright:
-

Oh yes.
Just before the old bag reported in on class, there was a debate between two National Public Radio correspondents--one male, one female--about the color of Shelly-O's dress, whether it's yellow or mustard.
-
did biden just totally mangle his oath of office, or what? :thatsright:
He's probably been drunk for a week going.
-
He's president. God save our Country.
Well, shit.
The skies didn't open up--at least out here in the Sandhills of Nebraska--drenching us with milk and honey and strawberries and cream and lollipops and ponies and free food and free medical care for all and free housing.
The 0bamaites, and the 0bamaite primitives, promised.
Maybe the skies opened up elsewhere in the country?
-
I don't remember this much freaking entertainment in an inaugural ceremony before. here, I just thought it was about the transfer of power. :whatever:
-
OK, fun with numbers. guess the percentage of non-moonbats on the mall at this moment. I would say it's 0.0001%, and that's just because I know that TRG is there.
-
yikes! is he even president after that trainwreck of a recitation? I think it was actually roberts that screwed up. heh, THAT is payback for voting against his confirmation, PresBHO. :-)
-
this has been reminding me of something all morning, and I think I have finally put my finger on it; this looks like a cross between woodstock, and one of those mass nazi rallies from the early 40's.
-
I would feel a lot better if the quivering, adoring mob was chanting ""USA" instead of "OH-BAH-MAH". as it is, it looks like a personality cult.
Oh, it absolutely is. That's the one thing that worries me the most about all this.
I'm sure that our country will survive. We made it through four years of Carter and eight of Clinton, so we'll make it through four years of the guy who has the worst of both of them, Carter's cluelessness and Clinton's self importance.
-
so far, he has mentioned scripture, gettysburg, the movement west, and universal health care.
can anyone figure out where the fork he is going with this? this is looking like "speechifying by committee".
-
" . . . and begin the work of remaking america".
BINGO. I heard the theme song from Jaws when he said this.
-
update from TRG, our man on the ground:
It is. I'm on the media stand directly across from the parade reviewing stand. I feel like a mole at DU.
-
Well heard that the economic mess is because of greed :thatsright:
:bird: your policies
-
this must be the first part of a three or four part speech. :thatsright:
he would have been better off if he had just delivered Stump Speech #3, chanted "Yes, We Can" a few dozen times, and gone to lunch.
(the odd semi-anti national security line got equally odd applause)
-
he's fixing the planet again, although he hasn't mentioned the ocean needing his attention so far.
-
I watched hm get sworn in just a few moments ago. A tear came to my eye. Not because I was overjoyed, but more because it scares me what this man is, what he can do, and the blind acceptance of him by the masses. I fear for the future of this country and his willingness to abide by the oath he just took.
-
Lincoln's second inaugural, this is not.
-
I'm only one of two people who isn't in the room with the giant TV. They have it blaring so loud that I can't really avoid it anyway. :whatever:
I'm not watching and I still feel sick to my stomach.
-

Every one in this building either watched the tv downstairs or watched via internet...republicans and democrats alike.
-
Lincoln's second inaugural, this is not.
I'm guessing the MSM will disagree with you there. Shit, they've already got the granite all prepped for engraving.
-
Every one in this building either watched the tv downstairs or watched via internet...republicans and democrats alike.
I like to be a rebel.
-
rambling. rudderless and pointless.
I have no idea what the hell the man is saying that he is going to do, or what he thinks.
-
rambling. rudderless and pointless.
I have no idea what the hell the man is saying that he is going to do, or what he thinks.
Probably because he doesn't really know yet himself.
-
I am guessing that the mood on the mall right now is, "that's IT?!?!? I froze my ass off for THAT?!?!"
-
Every one in this building either watched the tv downstairs or watched via internet...republicans and democrats alike.
it is historic, without a doubt. I stayed home from work today with the flu/plague, but even if I hadn't, I would have found a way to watch his speech.
-
I've been puppy herding all day. I will tune in sometime next week when the news commentators have time to towel off, shower and have a post coital smoke.
-
another update from TRG:
No media bias my ass. Obama hats and buttons all over the media area
-
Has he mispronounced any words yet?
The primitives get upset when words are mispronounced.
At least some times.
-
it is historic, without a doubt. I stayed home from work today with the flu/plague, but even if I hadn't, I would have found a way to watch his speech.
Agreed, but then I've watched every inauguration since I was 8 (when Bush 41 was sworn in).
-
it is historic, without a doubt. I stayed home from work today with the flu/plague, but even if I hadn't, I would have found a way to watch his speech.
Watching The One should aid in your healing.
-
the freaking poem is about as coherent as the inaugural speech, and no one knew when that freaking thing was over and they were supposed to clap.
-
Watching The One should aid in your healing.
you know, I am feeling better. perhaps I am unified and healed. I know I suddenly have more hope. and I am no longer worried about the ocean.
-
update from TRG:
The liberal port chick that caused a stir is up. No one paying attention. Aint No Mountain High Enough playing. I start my part at 230 EST
-
the benediction is a freaking hit job.
-
Just checked my wallet. Still only $48 in it.
Lying sonofabitch.
-
"when white will embrace what is right"
I am sure that everyone realizes what this little hand grenade implies.
-
Holy cats.
I watched the video of him ****ing up his oath completely.
Funny that Bush was such a retard but he managed to do it twice without forgetting his name...

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Roberts switched up the wording, he put "faithfully" at the end of the sentence. Roberts said "I do solemnly swear that I will execute the office of President of the United States faithfully...."
-
I am sure that everyone realizes what this little hand grenade implies.
He did NOT just say that.
-
from TRG :

-
He did NOT just say that.
in the benediction, in fact. it was a series of rhymes about the various races. when yellow . . . when black . . ., & etc. everything was hopeful until us poor cracker asses got mentioned.
-
What the **** did he say??
I heard the entire thing and listened....................yet I have NO ****ING idea what he said

payback for voting against his confirmation. "fine, I will screw up your oath of office".
hell, I am sort of surprised that roberts didn't make him say, "I am a silly nancy boy, and I do whatever michelle tells me to do".
-

I think Roberts was nervous, it was his first time to get to do it.
-
FNC is tearing his speech apart now. For a great speaker, I thought it was poor.
-
I switched to CNN and even foxnews very briefly. I couldn't stand the multiple obamagasms, and I ran back to C-SPAN.

Did 0bama use any particular phrase destined to become immemorial?
You know, like "the torch is passed" or somesuch?

something to the effect of, "You are stuck" or "You are ****ed".

I recognized snippets and shards of other inaugural speeches. as though he put a dozen or so other inaugural speeches in a blender for a few minutes and used what spilled out.
nothing memorable that I was able to glean.
-
is everyone saved now? Can I go home?
::)

I wondered; I was given the impression by the 0bamaites and the 0bamaite primitives that this was to be a speech of Ciceroean proportions, for the Ages.

hell, I am sort of surprised that roberts didn't make him say, "I am a silly nancy boy, and I do whatever michelle tells me to do".
I wonder if the O man was expecting the "Barrack Hussein Obama" or Roberts slipped that in.
-
why do I suddenly feel like I do when my neighbors leave town for a while and leave their teenage kids unchaperoned? really. it's almost the exact same feeling.
-

in two words: it sucked.

Well with any luck at some point the cops will get called. :-)
-
I wonder if the O man was expecting the "Barrack Hussein Obama" or Roberts slipped that in.
I understand that BHO planned to use his middle name a good while ago; sort of an "in your face. I am freaking President now, and there is nothing that you can do about it".
he will probably name sasha and malia's dog "Taliban" now.
-
That was the warmest exchange I have ever seen between two presidents. Very nicely done. I wiped tears from my eyes watching GWB and Laura leave.
God keep us safe.
-
Okay, I just read the whole text of 0bama's speech--it's on Drudge.
Didn't he, uh, mention God rather much?
Isn't this going to, like, discombobulate the primitives?
-
juan williams is BAWLING on foxnews.

he varied perspectives so drastically from one sentence to another that it resembled one of those movies with too many flashbacks.

It was expected.

For that I do not blame him.
This IS historic for black people everywhere in America.
I admit to feeling a little bit of pride that our country elected a black man to it's highest office.
Mind you if he had been a black CONSERVATIVE it would have been perfect, lol, but...
My family buried 3 ancestors who died in Union Blue and who had signed up not to preserve a union or for any other reason than to join an army that was fighting to make men free.
All other considerations aside, this IS a proud day for our Union. :)

Some should have told his speech writer that he was POTUS now -- the speech was a campaign speech and very forgettable.

wall street is obviously thrilled.

You think it will be enough for a bunch of rich black folks & the President of the United States to give it a rest or is the bad ol whitey still holding them darkies down.
-
Also, wasn't it nice of the reverend of the unity fuhrer to basically call all whites racists?
Something to look forward to until the fuhrer gets tossed out.
-

According to the poet and the right reverend, Whitey is just racist.

I thought it was unprofessional. this is all in a perfect world, of course, but journalists used to at least try to protect their impartiality.
(yes, yes, I know, I said it anyway. don't bother posting it. I already know :-) )

the MSM blogs are quite complementary of the benediction, and even say it had more "gravitas" than warrens invocation. :whatever:

and the liberalized history of the Civil war touches even the best conservatives. ASDF, may I remind you that the civil war was not started to "make men free", but as an answer to the inappropriate taxation of the South by the North. It was a while into the war that it changed to that mantra.
-
also from the benediction:
“For white folks in the South to vote for a black man as president is drastic. This is revolutionary," Lowery says. "The Democratic Party can take credit, but the Democrats didn't do it. God did it. God was in the plan. Nobody else could have gotten these white folks to vote for a Negro named Barack Obama."

Williams is paid as a commentator so it bothers me much less than one of the anchors at CNN or MSDNC blubbering away or some reporter with a mic. Commentators are paid to have strong opinions that are their own.

Electing an empty suit communist whose sole qualification is his skin color is NOT a great day for our union. Reverse racism is still racism.

Dude do NOT tell me why they enlisted. This is my family and the stories have been handed down by some very proud people. I KNOW why the civil war was fought and I KNOW why OUR family members that fell wearing blue signed up and served. My people on my mothers side were strong abolitionists. My father's side fielded two boys for the South who both came home alive to send descendants north to Illinois.

I did not see the inauguration, and from what I hear... I wasn't missing much.
Although me and the wife were watching Tom & Jerry over breakfast..... they had a damn cartoon (not much of a stretch if ya ask me) Obama during the commercials! So we switched it to Animal Planet. Was a safer bet since the other channels (I think even QVC was having Obamagasms) were celebrating the Immaculate Inauguration.
-
Electing an empty suit communist whose sole qualification is his skin color is NOT a great day for our union. Reverse racism is still racism.
Totally agree.
MLK Jr. wanted us to look past the color of a person's skin and look instead at the content of one's character.
The exact opposite happened here. Nobody gives a shit about his character or socialist policies because, hey!, he's BLACK baby! It's all good.
-
wow. that didn't take long. the white house web site has become an online worship site.

WTF! I just heard The Wrong Reverend Right (or so it seemed like) spew some shit about racism in a Jesse Jackson like rhyming matter. "When the redman can get aheadman, when white can get it right".... gee, if this is change that will make things so dismal... please pass the Pepto Bismol (see, I can rhyme too) :-)
-
jeez. even C-SPAN is televising people having obamagasms now.
"it's the totality of what he said that sets his oratory apart . . . ". :thatsright: the damn thing read like the menu at mcdonalds; it's all somewhat related, but ultimately it doesn't all really go together.

Yeah but it has a lot of shiny little dollar menu items for the Untermenchen and his ball slobbering supporters behind the cameras.
He could have showed up there in a clown wig and a bra and whacked off while playing Jenga and singing the Howdy Doodie song and they would be singing his praises and talking about how regal he looked and JFK and shit.

here is more of the text from the part of the benediction that we have been discussing.
we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right.

Maybe we can cough up 40 acres and a mule to shut them up.
(On Edit) in retrospect that would actually be pretty funny. Make it 40 acres of Tundra land in primal Alaska that they have to pay property taxes on and can't touch without enviro weenies bitching up a storm and a real live mule. Then nobody can ever bitch about reparations again. :-)

the temperature here has dropped 5 degrees since he stumbled through his oath of office. say what you will, but the man certainly got to work quickly.
-
jeez. you can't get away from it. :thatsright: on MSM broadcasts, you have to listen to talking heads having obamagasms, but C-SPAN is actually taking calls from various trailer parks and mental wards from around the country.

Mrs. E left the TV on when she went to work this morning (she leaves about an hour after I do).
When I got home for lunch, minutes after the Swearing In debacle, there it was on the tube.
The dog had her paws over her ears and her eyes shut. The birds were frantically trying to scrabble out of their cages.
It took me 20 minutes to calm everybody down. They were all appalled and disheartened.
The birds got an extra almond as a treat and then the dog and I went outside where she took an enormous Obamadump. (It stank pretty bad.)
-
It is said that Obama actually wrote his own speech. So, I got about what I expected, a mishmash.
Folk say he is "very smart" others say he's got an IQ that is "off the charts". Frankly, I don't see it. What I see is a man with a talent , a gift, alowing him to be an exceptionally good "reader" and alowing him to take direction exceptionally well. tHINGS THAT will getb you votes, but don't qualify you to do things correctly. Or, be a good president.
If you watched him at the school, where he "helped" paint , it was more than obvious he'd never done any painting before. Worse, his conversational abilities were minimal, and these were HS level kids. Sorry, Obama does not impress.

Sen. Kennedy collapsed (http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/18522464/detail.html) at the luncheon after the inauguration. I am sure it took quite an effort for him to even attend the ceremony.

Yes, he did.
Okay, thanks. I was nervous about that.
I know the Protestants and others here consider it a Roman Catholic medievalism, but I wrote about it in the religion forum here.
If one doesn't ask for the help of God, one never succeeds.
History is my evidence.

Yes, he did.
actually, it was " . . . so help me God, who will also make whitey finally do the right thing.". :uhsure: :-)

oh, FFS. I am back on C-SPAN, where I can hear the crowd noise better. they are STILL chanting "OH-BAH-MAH, OH-BAH-MAH", not "U-S-A, U-S-A". this is a remarkable and, I think, crucial difference. republicans would be chanting "U-S-A" right now.
well, the ones that were there, anyway. not too many republicans would have stood in 20 degree weather for john mccain. jus' sayin'
-
in watching the crowd reaction, I am more and more convinced that there is something seriously askew at the very foundation of our culture. people are literally losing their minds over a guy that has yet to actually accomplish anything, has told us even less about what he plans to attempt to accomplish, has has a past that would indicate that nothing will be accomplished in the future.
yet, there they are, the throbbing masses of chanting idolators. and then I was struck by an odd thought; you could replace obama with last season's winner of american idol, and there probably wouldn't be much of a difference at all.

So now will you stop calling those of us who have already figured this out "bitter"?
Thanks.
Not bitter, just passionate. Passionate and certain that a nation who voted for a man because he's black! is a nation that is ****ed.

its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life.
If we can undermine these three areas,
America will collapse from within." ....Stalin
Morality died in the 60's and 70's, the ACLU has just about killed any spiritual life and today you see the death of patriotism and adulation of the ONE...Duh Fury.

is the obamagasmic parade gotten badly behind schedule? it is getting dark. and isn't the obamagasmator supposed to be in the reviewing stand right now reviewing his own parade, instead of chillin' in the white house?

this thing is massively behind schedule. historically, it starts around 2 and takes 2 hours. it's freaking dark in DC now, which is no place for, say, a high school band from ohio to be. even if it isn't 20 degrees. I wonder if this will turn out to be an Obamen :-)
if this was a republican president, the headlines right now would be saying "New Republican Administrations Starts Amid Confusion, Disarray".
-
I just noticed a Navy Band saluting the President as they marched past the review stand (of course), but The President put his hand over his heart. I thought the protocol since reagan was to return the salute? admittedly, the man is commander in chief, so he is entitled to do whatever he wants to do . . . still, though, it was interesting.
(Heh. I just saw the Petal High School Band. Petal is very close to Hattiesburg :-))

never mind. I have seen him return the salute of two other military honor guards since then. I just must have missed that one. (but that is just going to get him into trouble with the DUmmies and the KOSsacks :-))

Subject: Cake in the kitchen
Good Morning All,
There’s an Inauguration cake in the kitchen. Chocolate of course! Enjoy!
Have a great day,
:thatsright: :whatever:
We all gathered around a large flat screen to watch it on CNN's site. The plus side was no talking heads. The minus side was a freezing screen. The sound never went out but the picture locked up a lot.
My co-workers (Chocolate cake lovers!! :lmao: ) were just "amazed" at how gracious Bush was. They just couldn't get over how nice and cordial he seemed. :whatever: FFS!! I kept quietly saying, "you do realize that this is a Presidential Inaguration and that a certain level of tact and decorum and protocol come into play right?" Sheesh!
I walked out of the room at the end and said, "Now where's my pony!?!?". :-) A couple of co-workers got a kick out of that.

that wasn't the video locking up; it looked that way in real life. it was such an historic event that the time-space continuum was freezing under the strain. :uhsure: :-)

^LOL! I knew he could bend time!!
It was kind of funny because when the video would freeze, it was always during an unfortunate facial expression. :-)

It was scheduled to start at 2:30 and Im sitting there with Ed Donahoe from AP Radio news and we're seeing a live shot and they are still having the fete for The Rookie in the Rotunda and taking their damn time about it. We finally went on at 2:40 and he didn't leave the Capitol until around 3.
We're back to the Bill Clinton time schedule for events in D.C. :whatever:

I got to say hi to Shep Smith too.

whoa. I just flipped over to PMSNBC for the first time today. they all look like hell. I mean, they seem exhausted. I assume it's because of the nearly 12 hour long obamagasm that I am sure they have been having all day.

the most egregious thing happening in O'Reilly's opinion is that all of the video cut-aways to the ObamaRamaBalls is cutting into his camera time. :-)
-
During Tuesday morning’s inaugural coverage on MSNBC, when spectators were heard booing President Bush as he was introduced, Chris Matthews seemed to become uncomfortable and criticized the protest as "bad form," remarking, "Don’t do that. Don’t boo, don’t boo, don’t boo." But minutes later, when protesters could be heard singing "Hey, hey, goodbye," co-anchor Keith Olbermann seemed to suggest that he was only bothered by the behavior because it distracted attention from Michelle Obama’s introduction. Olbermann: "Far be it for me to have been critical of anyone critical of this President, obviously, but, unfortunately, during that demonstration, something of the introduction of Mrs. Obama was lost because people were singing the, they still are, the ‘Hey, hey,’ song from various sporting events over the year, towards the 43rd President."

She is an extremely ugly woman. No one has the guts to say it.
She is 180 degrees from Jackie -- thuggish, rather slow (read her "Dr. Thesis" if you don't believe me), completely lacking in taste and grace.
This ain't no Camelot -- more like Mordor.

I left the inauguration stuff for Sportcenter before the balls started, but the Obamas CERTAINLY look quite pleased with themselves tonight, don't they? perhaps too pleased. they don't seem to realize that this isn't about them, and they don't seem fully conscious that this isn't just a big game with more flashing lights and a bigger plane.
I suppose some period of sheer happiness/bliss is in order, but with us on the brink of destruction, I really thought he would suit up and fly straight out to gitmo and nail the doors shut personally.
-
I managed to keep most of the Obamagasm off of me. I saw bits and snippets, but kept the TV in the break room tuned to the History Channel while I was there (best channel on TV, imho). I just hope Brian Williams remembered to wipe his chin after he was done.
The only thing the parade was missing was giant balloons of cartoon characters.

I don't think she's ugly, just has terrible taste in clothes. You'd think someone would advise her a bit better with her choice of clothes, but no one probably has the guts. I suspect she'd throw a little (or big) fit if anyone told her the truth.
I'm not a fashionista, in fact hate getting "dressed up", but I was amazed at that day time outfit. It was horrible. What's going to be funny is to hear the press gushing about the gorgeous outfits. It's sort of the "emperor has no clothes" syndrome.
Both outfits were way off proportionately. She's tall and can get by with wearing many outfits, but both dresses just weren't for her.
It's almost funny with all of them gushing that she's just like Jackie O. Don't think so. Jackie had the benefit of all that debutante training. I never was a deb and feel uneasy around folks that do. Actually, I feel sort of sorry for Michelle (don't tell anyone I ever said that). :-)
