Question For Powerwashing Pros
« on: April 14, 2015, 06:08:32 PM »
I bought a PowerCare extension pole to go with my power washer.
(Pic Below)

The power washer that I have does not have a soap/cleaning dispenser, only a hose that goes into a separate bucket.

My question, Please bear with me.

You can't use harsh chemicals or alkaline's, bleaches etc. etc. that will run through the powerwasher which is understandable.

What I don't understand is why the instructions that come with the extension pole say that you shouldn't use these cleaners either?

If you will look at the picture below you will see a soap dispenser bottle attached to the wand.

I am pretty sure that the cleaning agents will not be passing through the power washer itself because the pressure from the water running through the wand draws the cleaner up through the clear tube (attached to canister and wand) and out the wands end directly?

What would I be hurting if I used a bleach type cleaner?

Thanks

If washing grease, oil, crude from engines or equipment, use a separate sprayer and special cleaning chemicals like "Purple Stuff"....don't let it dry on whatever you spray it on. Spray on  a section and wash off quickly.

Or you can do like me. Buy some galvanized or black iron pipe and make up your own extension apparatus and you don't have to worry about what goes through it.

Using Dawn Dish soap also works well. It's safe and cuts grease and oil really well.

Thanks for the post.  I am supposed to power wash my Mom's deck soon, with a machine my late father bought but never used.  The instructions seem way too complicated
