New Egypt Constitution - draft translated

In case anyone wishes to discuss it, here it is to read first.

One —

Sovereignty is for the people, the sole bearer of the right to set up the authorities, which derive their legitimacy from the people, are subject to the people’s control, are bound by the limits of their mandates and constitutional responsibilities, and are committed to protecting public funds, maintaining the State’s resources, and establishing the fundamentals of justice in the distribution thereof. The authorities shall uphold the principle that positions of public service amount to responsibilities and mandates, not to rights or privileges, and that their holders work to serve the interests of the citizens.

Click the link to see the whole thing, it is quite long.

The DUmmies seem to like it even though it mentions Allah over and over again.

I think the DUmmies should all pack up and move to Egypt since they like the new constitution so much, and leave ours alone.

The Egyptian government will treat it in the same manner our current one, treats ours.  :argh:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Religion is fine as long as it is totalitarian religion that really treats women like second class citizens. [/DUchebag]
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I notice the words "the people."

Are women counted as "people" in this new regime?

I suspect not.

At times like this I think of the fine laws and constitution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics as mentioned in The Gulag Archipelago.  Those who have read it will know what I mean; those who haven't, should.

The Gulag Archipelago

This.

Also, The First Circle.

I had seen the German film The Lives of Others on DVD on a 19" SDTV.  Powerful stuff.  Two days ago my new Blu-Ray of it arrived, and I watched it on my 32" 720p., and was able to determine that the "Western literature" the Stasi find during their search is The First Circle (in German, Der erste Kreis der Hölle).

The Lives of Others should be seen by Americans.  While fictional, and unlikely that a Stasi officer would be allowed to handle a surveillance solo or even with a trusted acquaintance, it is a window on life in the GDR.  Some of the actors, including the one portraying the Stasi officer, are "Ossis" with first-hand knowledge.

I was on an internet search awhile back on ex-KFB and their connections to our Middle East problems.  There is no mistake that a lot of ME dictators were educated and militarily trained by the old Soviets.  I think a lot of terrorism we see today has roots to our cold war with Russia.  Proxy wars are certainly nothing new.

DUmmies want to beat their wives and rape women because it takes 4 witnesses to prove rape under sharia law.....even Stevenumbers can score there.
